10 poems I loved to read part: I

=Nielso:iconNielso: reports, 21h 4m ago
Because there are so many poems submitted in one day and so many that aren't been read. I've placed some here that deserve it. I know that there are more poems that do but these are to start with. It took me a long time to read them all and sorting them out.
These are the first 10.
I'll try to do this every week/month if possible.
I hope you like them.

Greets,
Nielso

100 posters for Freedom of Expression in Marrakech

~absdostan:iconabsdostan: reports, 8h 55m ago

Call For Submissions For Online Poetry Magazine!

^fllnthblnk:iconfllnthblnk: reports, October 11, 2008
CLEARFIELD REVIEW: Call For Submissions

A new online poetry magazine based in Northern Utah has opened up -- it's called Clearfield Review! If you write poetry, try sending some of your awesome work for consideration in Issue One now!

:? But how does Clearfield Review differ from the zillions of other online markets?

What Clearfield Review wants to focus on is very simple: excellent poetry. Tired of those markets that shy away from poems that rhyme? Try sending that sonnet that's been itching for publication to Clearfield Review! Form and style do not matter. Send free verse, Haiku, limericks, whatever. All Clearfield Review asks is that they are of high quality.

Unfortunately, Clearfield Review is a non-paying market, but the magazine will do its best to promote your work!

:worry: But I'm afraid of rejections!

Yes, unfortunately rejections are a normal part of the publication life. But send stuff anyway! Your submissions will be read in full and responded to with helpful feedback in case of a rejection. There will be no "uptight editor" mentality -- the editor is just a regular guy who loves poetry and wants to help his fellow poets write better and showcase their awesome works!

:? Speaking of the editor, who is he?

Why, that would be me, `fllnthblnk aka William Soule. The magazine will be run solely by me. Although I only have a very modest amount of publications under my belt, I wanted to help get poetry more spotlight in Utah by showing off poets from around the world -- that meant starting an online magazine. Hopefully it will evolve into something a bit more!

:w00t!: All right, I'm interested in sending a few things off! Where do I start?

Please visit the Clearfield Review website and familiarize yourself with the Submission Guidelines where you will find the email address to send your works. Just make sure your poems are polished up and raring to go!

Thank you for reading and good luck!

Good luck with this one! Definitely love the fact that even rejected submissions will receive some sort of honest feedback.

Yeah... I've had a bunch of rejections that are just carbon copied messages saying "Thank you for your submission, but unfortunately we cannot accept your work. Good luck elsewhere." Those type of emails are no fun at all!

Oh how exciting!
Maybe after exams I'll start writing again and give it a shot, mostly for the feedback though ^-^.

Just thought I'd throw in a couple of (hopefully) helpful suggestions that you may or may not be aware of. You may find getting yourself on the following sites helps increase submissions (and thus the chances of quality!):

Duotrope's Digest

Hey there, I've been on the editorial boards of several publications. Give a shout if you have any questions or need any advice on anything from publishing to formatting, from standards to stylesheets, from technicalities to disclaimers! I'd be more than willing to help. :)

And best of luck! :D
