The HEART for LITERATURE

~Heaven-CanWait:iconHeaven-CanWait: reports, October 18, 2008
A very hearty Hello to everyone who decided to take a look at this News Article
or even joined this so far successful project!

The words we write mean so much more, if we're writing about our own experiences or the latest thoughts and ideas which have been running on our mind for a while.
It's a whole new world, within us, that we dare to expose to others . . . Sometimes it's harder, because it expresses our fears and weaknesses, sometimes it's easy, because we try to give others an advice with what we write.

The following people agreed on showing us their favourite self-written piece and tell us what makes it so special to them.
I'll just get started. I thought a lot about how I present this project, . . . I just do it with all the love I can give to these artists and with the hope that some people will take time to give them some of your love and approval.

    To my Childhood by *falathiel
keep your smile on, while it's not gone
because you don't know what you're to become
    in ten years.”
    [link]

I especially like this poem because it is something I learned with my life experience and was written from heart. [ She was forced to eventually choose one of her poems :lmao:]

    Dreams Infinity by ~EnchantedHeartsStory "
I really envy all the authors because they can create all different kinds of emotions, feelings, creatures, situations, settings. It’s like a spell you’re under when the ink becomes real for you. You imagine your own place where the story takes place if there is enough free space without descriptions. . . [link]

I really like the first part of this story because i think i hit bulls eye with her feelings. I guess everyone else who loves books understands this cute girl and her disbelief in dreams.

    Gone by ~Jiskah
"As I walk, through the snow,
Breaking blades of grass and daisies. . . "
    [link]

    Why this?
This is a special piece for me, because it describes a feeling what you can't describe in one word. In this poem you have to visualize everything, and you'll explore a feeling you never felt before.

The wind and the sea by ~Heliosalister
"I am the wind and you are the sea,
    destined to meet at only a slight breeze, . . . "
    [link]

. . . This is so special to me because it represents my kept up feelings about a girl I liked. I don't know her anymore but the feelings stayed, and kept bringing me down.

The part where you let go by ~TwilightLavender
”Last night I had the most vivid, most real and most terrifying dream I have ever experienced. It was both the best and worst dream that I can remember ever having. Which was the problem - I don’t remember my dreams. Not even my nightmares! Ever. I guess that this one just must’ve made sense…” [link]

Even though it isn't based on a real experience but one of my favorite songs, I still feel as if I can connect with my characters. What really makes this piece special to me is that its my first bit of prose that has made me cry while writing it, and even when I re-read it...

    Original Sin by ~Anti-11
    "The fruit of knowledge
That shun us away from Eden . . ."
    [link]

This poem is important cause it visualize that world we are going through.

    three-pee-em by ~Oulipo-Hobo
    ”1
    September - seventy-three
    Her speech: -
    “Sweet ex-bee-eff, meet me new.”
    [link]

This poem is special as it is my first ever attempt at something Oulipo based and I think it was pretty successful, even though it was like an uphill struggle when writing it. This poem started my love affair with Oulipo and I haven't looked back.

Everything We Could Be by =LaTul1pe
“Sometimes it's the silence we cannot bear,
The silence in everything we lived held dear.”
    [link]

It's special to me because I purposely chose to write the beautiful sides of love, even in their sad moments, to meet the challenge of being different than all the angst poets on deviantart in portraying the one often harder to embrace without fear. This poem in a way portrays in just how closely the happiness and sadness in love could be entwined in different minds.

    Yoda, Haiku Speak by *Benji-man
[ I didn't want to quote a Haiku, so I chose this as a quote – can be found in the Artists' Comment]
”Based on my favourire Star Wars quote:
When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not, hmm?”
    [link]

This is my favourite piece, because it makes me laugh and because people who aren't living my life can understand it!

Finale Daybreak Chapter 13 by ~harlequin-x-romance
    “Edward
“It’s a game my kind likes to play,” Ruben said darkly, fixing his glare on Bella. He made as if to walk towards her.
“Don’t go anywhere near her,” I replied, clutching my wife to my chest.”
    [link]

It's a fanfiction from the Twilight Saga, and i wanted to contrast the happy endings you get in most romantic novels, so this was my attempt.

    Living with A.D.D. by ~EverRoxas
“Only when an English professor in college grew a little concerned did I realize that maybe there was a reason for the way I performed in certain classes. . . “ [link]

This piece is special to me because it describes something very real for me and that is part of me. Although I have A.D.D., I do not let it get the best of me, and use it to become a better person.

Writing – The Gate by ~sake-bento
”When I was walking home today, I noticed that the gate was open - which was odd, because I had never seen a gate there before.” [link]

This means a lot to me it really happened to me, and when I wrote it I could still feel the magic working on me. Every time I read it, I can still remember the cold air and the quiet street.

Conversion of a Shadow by ~vampire-elf
”Whoops and hollers echoed through the giant, round room. Monsters of all sorts surrounded a ring, clapping and cheering wildly. In the middle of the ring was a large
dog-like animal, fierce russet eyes glowering down at a small, gangly green reptile. The thing was spitting and hissing at the larger, much stronger monster, mockingly dancing around its burly legs.”
    [link]

know it's a fanfiction, but I love it. I tried my hardest to show emotion and feeling with as little dialogue as possible. It actually has a first part somewhere, but I like this one better. :)

    The Ploughman by *Beyond-the-Pages
    Dressed in rags
    of filth, stinking
    of last month's table scraps,
    he seems to parade himself
    up alleys
    and down sidewalks
    with an undeserved sense
    of self-importance.
    [link]

This piece is called "The Ploughman", and is especially important to me because of the fact that the meaning is about how so many people, whether consiously or otherwise, accept the insults given to them by others, so much so that they hold onto them as though they were treasures. I used to do that same thing, so this piece is a reminder to me of where I've come from, and how far I've gotten.

    Flowers 2 by *whitefloweronmygrave
    ”A beautiful tone of yellow
Standing with pride in a vase
A perfect gift from a fellow
They have the power to brighten any girls face.
    [link]

That poem is my favorite one I've written simply because I enjoy the sound of it. It was extremely hard to choose which specific piece but I enjoy this one the most <3.

    On Christianity by *lailah-blue
”She sits on the pew, hands clasped
    eyes somber.
    Religion on her mind and
    god in the details.”
    [link]

This piece is my favorite and also my most hated piece because it was so hard to write. I'm Christian but not very religious because I'm laid back about pretty much everything. This poem is a peek into my life and my mind and how I really am and I feel as though I captured my feelings as well as those of teenagers that are torn between religion and real life.

    Lover of Insanity by ~TerribleTreasure
    ”We stand on the brink
    Between life and death
    Seeing two worlds at once
    And living with each breath.
    [link]

I love this one, because it awakened my love for poetry, again, after a long dry spell. I forot the beauty of poetry, and expressing yourself through writing. I owe all my other pieces to this one.

We're not going to crash by ~oox-anime-xoo
”An argument had broken out. Nothing new here, this was an average after school drive home. My school blazer lay on the floor. I had always hated that striped pattern, what kind of people make students wear something with blue black and white deckchair stripes? . . .” [link]

I chose this because it was something I felt I needed to write at the time even though writing it was somewhat painful as it forced me to remember what happened.

My heart still flutters by ~mistyvision
”my fingers trace the heart carved in the bench
i look for you and notice that the sky is the color of your eyes today.
and i look up and imagine that you are searching for me too...”
    [link]

I lost someone I loved, not physically but emotionally and it was really hard for me. This piece enabled me to put all the random thoughts flowing around inside me into one piece. It helped heal the pain and the best part is it turns out that i really love this piece. its everything i feel in one piece and it makes me realize at least something good came out of my loss.

    Untitled. by ~vivitarose13
    ”i
    feel so
    useless
    and pathetic
    sometimes.
    like
    every
    one hates
    me and doesn't
    really
    care. . .”
    [link]

This poem is important to me because i need something to remind me of those bad days, so that the good ones feel even better. It helps me to connect with my issues and reflect them
    harmlessly.

Dirty Rat Scene 15 by ~Augustus4TS
    ”Scene 15:
(Harvey sitting in a police station with Langford circling around him with a folder in his hand. Harvey looks completely annoyed and unhappy, Langford looks happy and proud)
Langford: Yet again, let me extend my thanks to you for coming down here to the station.
    [link]

This is part of the script I'm writing called "Dirty Rat". The reason why i love this piece so much is it shows how some people can't face their past but put on a front like they can. Hope you enjoy it, any other questions please sent me a note and i will explain.

    Georgia by ~maxaxe
He knelt there, on the concrete grave. Her body in his arms, her face covered in blood and dirt, her school uniform torn and blood soaked. Tears falling from the heavens gently washed her face, his shouts could be heard all over the city.” [link]

This is speical to me because it outlines the conflicts in other countries. Although aimed at Russia-Georiga it can be fit into most wars these days.

    Nelson, en route by ~paradoxicalshaman
”Highway is the first thing I recognize
    waking up, restless grey finger.
    Next to me
Chandra dozes against a Greyhound window.
I flip through Gary Snyder poems.
    [link]

This is one of the few poems of mine that i really kind of favour because it tries to be as expansive as possible with its imagery and depth, and yet remain isolated very much in a singular moment of reflection.

    The Protege by *Lovespoon
    ” Pencils are sharpened, books are opened;
The teacher says everyone's sweet name.
This music is chocolate for the ears.”
    [link]

A fun piece with exciting imagery and great sound effects.
It is a serious poem by content as well.

    Untitled. by ~XxFallenFaerieX3
    ”Twelve Midnight.
Ive made it to another day.
    Watching this elaborate masquerade
    Seeing but not really feeling.”
    [link]
Okay this poem means alot to me because i wrote it after a hard time in my life had finally come to an end. Nothing made sense afterwards but this poem helped me to figure everything out.

    Helpless by ~Isar-Anon
“A careful friend with smiling eyes
    And words we don’t believe
    So secretive and insecure
    So fearful just to grieve.”
    [link]

This piece means a lot to me because it describes how worthless and terrified you feel when someone close to you decides to destroy themselves.

"There's a dead girl in one of our rooms. She's been murdered; please come quickly!" cried out a flustered hotel manager."
    [link]

I feel that this story needs attention simply because it's awesome =) It's very special to me because it's my first successful story.

This is it! Honestly, I didn't expect so many submissions. Though it's been some work, I'm happy to have found so many people who share my opinion and want literature to get more popular. This is just a minor step into that direction, but I'm hoping people will take a bit of their time to give these poets the attention they truly deserve.

I want to apologize for any mistakes (let it be typing mistakes or whatever). I did my best to make the best out of this.

Thanks to =FaMz, ~Juniii3 and *MataHari7 (and a piece of my own work) I could frame this article with some beautiful images and make it look more friendlier despite the hell of words.

And a special thanks to those who helped me to spread the news! Especially the lovely ~TwilightLavender! You've helped me so much, I truly appreciate your support!

With a lot of greetings I now say goodbye and wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
    Eileen.
