Introducing, Super Deviant Bros. Battle!
A battle between Original characters, imagination and creativity

Story:

The structure is there, just as you remember it. Standing there, unmoving. Everything felt cold, and darkness surrounded you. You look around, everything is bitch black, nothing could be seen but the structure that stood head.

Had it always been there...?

The structure stood tall, stabbing high into the sky like some foul monument to sins past and future.
The walls of the building were old and a bit moldy, but it stood firmly. A few windows were broken, and some vines were starting to grow onto it. The door looked as if it stretched to the same height as the building, and it was a dark, moldy green. It seems as if some blood splatters could be seen on it...

You looked around...

You had no other choice.

You slowly pushed open the door. It creaked loudly as you did so.
The innards of the building was not much different from the outside.
The walls were still moldy, with vines growing upon them. The windows were still shattered, and it looked as if it were abandoned quite a while ago...

You walk in, and the door slams shut behind you.

No turning back now.

You spot a source of light, coming from the next room.

A exit...?
Most likely not.

You nervously walk across the hall.
Your footsteps echoed loudly as you did.

You push open the door to the next room.
In the center of the room was a portal.
The bright blue light was almost blinding.
You look around.

Something is amiss.

"Hello there..."

The voice made you jump.
You looked around for any sign of life. Alas, there was none.

"Not to worry...I'm not here to cause any trouble..."
You calmed down a bit, but kept your guard up.

"This is your way to a whole new adventure...more troubles as well...If you wish to continue...I can't stop you..."

You look down at your hand, There’s a strange envelope in your hand. Ornate and delicate. Emblazoned with an insignia. The insignia. Unopened. Choice? What choice, you want to ask the creature. But words fail you.

"So...what is your choice...?"

You look up.
There's no other choice now.

Steeling your resolve, you muster all your courage one last time.

“I’m ready,”
and you step into the portal.

"Don't say I didn't warn you...

The Contest!
SDBB is basically a battle between OCs, a battle of creativity and imagination.
Your character should have something special, an ability, look, that sets them apart from the others. Like every good video game, all characters have their pros, cons, strengths, weaknesses, goals, and endings.

Wanna Submit your character?
Unlike many others, this is NOT first come, first serve.
Audition your character, and see if they make it.
Only a total of either 32, 64 or 128 characters will be accepted, depending on how much momentum this gains
Each person can only submit ONE character.

If you want to continue:
To submit your character, you must do a few things...
First off, you've read the story right?
You must draw your character in any scene from the short story above.
ANY.
It can be as simple, or as awesome as you'd like.

IF YOU ARE CHOSEN:
You MUST have a reference sheet ready for your character. A basic reference sheet would look something like this:

It does not have to be as long as those, but you must have one if you are chosen.

The Prizes?
The final, grand winner will receive a Full year subscription, along with a six month feature in my journal.
Along with that, I will draw you a comic [Multiple pages, most likely] of your character and the 'final boss' [Any of my characters of your choice]
You can decide what happens, who wins, who loses, ect.

There are NO runner ups, second, third, or anything else.
One grand prize winner.

Stages
The stages of this tournament are completely random.
For each round, the stage will be given at the beginning.
NOBODY will be aware of the stage before the battle.
Your battle MUST take place there.
If not, you are disqualified.

Basic Rules:
1.) First off, there's no rules toward how you want to submit it. It can be a full page comic, a panel by panel comic, a flash, literature, traditional, anything. It doesn't have to be in color if you don't want it to be. [Keep in mind that you are tested on your creativity, imagination, and quality in your work]
2.) ONLY one OC per person. The only exception is if they go together, such as my characters, Hail the Rabbit and Po the blob. Only two at maximum. Any more will be turned down.
3.) Fancharacters ARE allowed, because I know there are many out there

Battles
1.) It will take place in the stage set in the beginning
2.) As I mentioned before, any kind of entry is fine, but it cannot be a single picture. It must show your character in the process of the battle and their victory.
3.)The battle doesn't HAVE to end in death, unless you want it to. It can be as epic, bloody, gorey, whatever you'd like. [Just try to stay within' DeviantArt's rules]
4.) You will be given two weeks or so to finish your entries. The judges will take five days or less to judge your entries. IF YOU FAIL TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY, THAT'S AN AUTOMATIC LOSS.
