ProjectsThis handy new resource is a one-stop-shop of all active literature clubs and projects currently available on DeviantArt. It also has links for joining each club, lets you know who's hiring, what prompts are being run, as well as what contests they are hosting, all with handy links for more information. This news feature is going to be posted bi-weekly, every other Wednesday, to continually update you, but the information is also available in my journal which will be updated as new information becomes available. The FAQ will probably answer most of your questions, but if you there are any other questions you wish to ask, or have a suggestion as to how this list could be improved, please contact me! Don't pose your question on this news article though as it may be missed. If you are a club or project owner and feel like your group has been misrepresented or there is information that is out of date, please inform me ASAP and I will update my journal. Thanks!
~Jessica (`PunknEra)FAQWhat's the difference between a club and a project and why is it so important? Clubs are communities for writers with similar interests. The distinctive feature is the club's reliance on members. Generally speaking, you must join a club in order to participate in its activities.
Projects, on the other hand, do not rely on members--they are open to the general public. Generally speaking, no commitment is required to participate.
It's important to differentiate between the two because if you want to get involved in the literature community but feel you don't have the time or energy to commit to a club, then you know to check out the projects section instead.
What do the symbols above the group icon/name mean?~

means it is a prose club or project
~

means it is a poetry club or project
~

|

indicates the club or project supports both poetry and prose.
Why do some groups have a subcategory that others don't?Only pertinent information that the group has made available will be included in the subcategories. This means that if the club is not actively looking for staff, there will not be a "staff" subcategory. You'll find all or none of the following subcategories below each group description:
~ the
Join section informs you of the club's joining procedure.
~ the
Staff section let's you know if the club or project is looking for staff
~ the
contest and
Prompt sections are exactly as they sound: lists of ongoing contests and/or prompts hosted by the club or project.
~ the
Other section directs you to any area of special focus for the club or project, such as a chat room or forum
What do I do if I see information that is out of date or information that is missing?I watch all active literature clubs & projects, so this list should be continually updated as I receive journal updates in my inbox. However, if you do see something out of date, please inform me either by note or comment. If you are not a club or project owner/operator please include a link so I can verify your information. Also, if a new group opens up or an inactive one becomes active again, please let me know as well so I can include it on this list!
What is considered an "active" group? An active group is one that has been updated in the past three months or, if it has exceeded this time, one that has expressed in advance that there will be a lull of activity for a specific amount of time.
How will I know what information has changed since I last checked this list?I plan on posting a bi-weekly news article that informs the lit community of changes, such as new contests and prompts being posted, new staff openings, etc. You can either watch me or simply keep your eyes open for these news articles because they will indicate what information has been updated.
