Ever had an issue with deleting your messages in the message center? This can occur for various reasons. When deleting the items from your message center make sure that you let the "Saving" bar finish before moving to a new page. If you are deleting large masses of messages at a time, it is best to wait a few moments after the "Saving" bar is finished in order to make sure that the server has processed your request.
Message center deletion issues can also be caused by using your browser's back button. This often occurs if you click on a link in your message center and after looking at it you return back to your message center. When using the back button it returns to the message center as you first saw it so anything you have deleted will still appear despite being deleted. If this happens all you need to do is do a hard refresh (ctrl + f5) and it should be up to date.
If you have waited for the "Saving" bar to finish loading, you are not using the back button, and the problem persists you'll want to try disabling any extensions, software firewalls, and anti-virus software that you may have to see if it fixes the issue before contacting the
Help Desk for help.

Preview Images and YOU!
Hello lovely Deviants. This week we're going to explore the exciting world of Preview Images. What are they? Why would you want to use them? Why do you need to use them even when you don't want to? How can they improve YOUR life?
Let's start with the basics:
FAQ #79: How do I submit Artwork, Flash Animations or Literature? As you can see, a preview image is a file you submit with your main deviation file which will be displayed in thumbnails etc. instead of the main file. Typically, you will need to use one when submitting files which deviantART cannot automatically make into a thumbnail, such as an application skin, compressed files, .PDFs, and so on. The preview image will be used instead to make the thumbnail.
It's important to note that preview images cannot be used for jpeg and png submissions. These can be rendered into thumbnails automatically so this should not be of concern.
The preview image must be in jpeg, png, or gif format. Note that if you submit a gif as a preview image, it must be 150x150 pixels or smaller.
After submitting your main deviation file in the "Which File" section of the Submit Art screen, you will get another box below this labeled "Preview" if your submission qualifies. You can then click "Choose" and pick a preview image in the same way you picked and uploaded your main deviation file. Presto! Instant preview image.

Probably not the place to recommend this, but I think adding an onUnload handler to the BODY prevents Firefox from remembering the page's state when you leave.
