Ghost-of-Ink had been a member of deviantArt for a relatively short amount of time. However, she has had a profound effect on the literature community. She is quick to make friends and is easily accessible, willing, with a kind heart, to offer her input. Her own writing has increased the richness of the literature category exponentially. Her writing shows a unique but very accurate insight in the works of the world, both inspiring and disheartening all at once. Putting these two feelings together is difficult and is only found in the best of minds. *
Ghost-of-Ink manages to pull off this balance perfectly.
I sit down with Ghost and ask her who she is and what has driven her forward in life.
At what point did you take an interest in writing?I started writing seriously in my sophomore year of high school. I would have been 15 then. My first real creations were that of Mortalis and Triumar. I wrote an entire prophecy for them, but soon found too many plot holes. I revamped, and out of them, Abaddon, Aftiel, and Vassago were born.
Fun fact: I have kept the Eight Elements for close to four years. Yes, eight, not four, eight.
What is prosetry and how does it operate? How do you make it your own?Prosetry is simply a term that LeeAnn,

, mentioned to me a while ago. It's a term that represents the blending of prose and poetry. It reads very much like poetry, and has a distinctive pattern, but is in the form of prose.
Mine tend to be based more on metaphors and/or allusions to other symbols. Most, as you've probably noticed, are geared towards nature. This is mainly because I have a deep respect for nature and her rather brutal ways with humans.
Another fun fact, although I am an atheist, I do use religious symbols in my writing, especially prosetry. Abaddon, Aftiel, and Vassago are all named after angels.
I have found your nature focus fascinating a unique. How did this focus come about and what makes it interesting to you?I have seen a hurricane devastate towns and evacuate cities. I have watched kids break bones trying to defy gravity. Most of all, I have walked down a bleached hallway home to doors that led to children lying in beds. I walked out of that hospital knowing that some of them would never feel the sun on their skin again. If those arent humbling experiences, then I have no idea what one would be.
I respect nature because she has respected me. Im still alive, and so is she.
What compelled you or cause your decision to join deviatntArt?Joining dA was after a weeklong battle with myself on whether or not I wanted the people of the world to look at my writing. In the end, well
You can see how that fight turned out.
My cause, well, I was inspired by Rynn and Plea. You can thank them for the haunting.
Overall, how has your experience been on this site?Lets see, I have a Soul-sister, an older sister, a younger sister, and two older brothers. Id say its been adventurous.
Bonus points if you can figure out who they are.
What is the most inspirational thing you have ever read?Whoa now, thats a tough question. I mean, theres a lot of inspiring things out there, from soldiers to teachers, they all rank pretty high. However, I digress
I tend to do that quite a lot actually, like this one time--
Right, inspirational readings. I would have to pick something that has been said by almost every single person on the planet, and in several hundred languages.
Because I can
If it is within your power to do something, and it would be in your moral code to do so, then do it. The future isnt going to hand you an engraved invitation saying Here I am, its going to slap you in the face and say Mold me.
What would you recommend to inspiring writers? The best advice is never written clearly, it comes in puzzle pieces. You must decide whether or not you have the will to put them together.
What are you future plans in the arena of writing?I plan on getting a minor in creative writing if I can, but, Physical Therapy opens up a wealth of opportunities to assist people who are in the position that I was about a year ago.
I will finish this novel.

I swear.
This novel? Care to share some insight?Illusions End is a novel that Im currently working on. Abbadon is the main character, along with his
uh, acquaintances Aftiel and Vassago. They are part of a race called Nafarians, bred by humans to be their slaves. They are the 6th generation, what is considered by the king to be the best soldiers he has ever seen. Unfortunately, with this power, comes intelligence. Abaddon and Aftiel have had enough, and that is where their story begins.
What is your best piece and why does it stand out to you?Best piece? Great, now Im going to sound like Im a narcissistic moron.
I heard you were a rose This one is the one that I look back on every once in a while and smile.
It stands out because, for me, its the first time Ive ever considered anyone that wasnt a blood relative part of my family. LeeAnn is so similar to me its scary, and yet, were so different as people. When you look at our writing, you can see the places where were saying the same thing, just in different words.
I need a tissue.
*hands tissue* Speaking of LeeAnn, how did your relationship with her develop? It started when we started replying to each other several months ago. I think it was through

. I read her writing, and slowly realized that our views were extraordinarily similar. Then, I figured out how old she was. I developed a deep respect for her because she was so young, and we continued our conversations throughout the months, steadily improving our friendship.
Now, I treat her like my younger sister, and we both cause some havoc with our mischievousness. >8D
What makes you wake up in the morning? What keeps you going?
On weekdays? The stupid alarm clock. Seriously, I hate mornings. Oh, you meant metaphorically, thats completely different.
I wake up and move every morning because my sister cant. I still have legs, energy, and a life. Theres no chance in this century that Ill waste that.
You have mentioned your sister before, and it is a tragic story. How do you believe this had affected to as a person? When she was going through therapy at the hospital, I was far too young to leave at home. So, I went through all the sensory therapy with her. I dont remember any of it, and I suppose thats the way it was meant to be.
I grew up in a world where my older sister was dying, so the atmosphere was, as you can imagine, very dark. This caused me to grow up too fast, and Ive found that Im isolated from some of my peers. I understand mortality, even if my fellow teenagers dont.
Is there anybody in particular that enjoy speaking with and who are your inspirations?Of course! I talk to Joe and Pie on a regular basis. Also, LeeAnn, Plea, Tys, Rynn, Grif, Wreckoning, and Austheke are regulars in my inbox. We have the weirdest inside jokes
Inspiration? They all are. Each of them has picked up the proverbial pen and dabbed at inkwells. That, to me, is more than anyone could ask for.
As for the rest of the world
Look out the window, at the leaves in the trees, or the stars in the sky. You will never manage to convince me that those events arent inspirational. The world still goes on, despite all that we do to our Mother Earth. Open your senses, there isnt anything more inspiring than the very thing that keeps you alive.
If we dont tell the generations about this beauty, who will?
