Ok, well first you have to drain your mind of all originality. An easy way to do this is to watch weeks upon weeks of popular anime shows. IE Naruto and Bleach. Another way to do this is spend all your time watching stick figure animations online. Now neither of these work if you just watch them on occasion. You have to use all of your free time obsessing over these, so that all you think about are things created by other people.
The next step is to take screen shots of the anime and trace them in a vector program or just make a flash animation of stick people fighting each other. It doesn't matter which one you do, since they've been done many time before. People will love whatever you do, because they do the same thing or are just as obsessive as you are.
Next, you hide comments from anyone saying that they want to see original art. Since you don't know the meaning of original, you get confused and want to forget about said comment. It also makes you seem more mysterious to anyone who doesn't know what the original comments are about.
The fourth step includes you complaining about original characters getting in the way of your wonderful tracings. If you went for stick figures, then in this step, you complain when people turn your stick figure into full 2D art. This will make people feel bad for ruining your wonderfully unoriginal ideas.
Now here's what you're to avoid doing. Don't, I repeat, DON'T do anything original. People don't pay attention to most of the original artists here, yet they swarm to the things they've seen over and over again. Why is this? This is because that people feel safe and secure with old things. They don't want new things to come in, even though the old things use to be new. Most people didn't pay attention to the old things until they were popular, so they don't know what it's like for new things to come into play. Now with video game hypes going up, it's even harder to find a good game that isn't already popular, so you might be able to find a good emulator for your computer so you can take screen shots of your favorite game as well, thus making you even more popular.
Now there are two original ways to get popular, but they take work. You either take the money you would have spent on a year's worth of anime and get a good camera or use it to get yourself good art supplies and programs. When you start out, you'll most likely have junk, but after enough time and practice, you'll be able to catch more and more people's eyes with your truly original art and/or photos. Who wants to work for something that you can get by doing things that everybody has seen a multitude of times?
Yes this is a bash at tracers/fan artists and stick animators. Now I'm not talking about things like Animation Vs. Animator. This is a truly original work of art. I mean the animations where it's just stick people fighting each other. This is also not towards people who either do fandom characters or fan and original art. No. This is telling people that do only fan art, vector tracings, and/or stick figure animations.
This is an art site, so why are you cramming it up with the same old junk? Go out and learn how to capture nature in it's purest sense using your expensive camera. Or better yet. You can go and learn how to draw, thus keeping your creativity and letting others see that art is not dead on deviantArtIDOL
Oh and I already know you're going to bash me, so I don't really care what you say. I'll laugh at your ignorance. I'm not bashing a single artist, because to be an artist, you have to be original. Yes there are some people who can make amazing back grounds or outfits for fandoms, but they should just do the same thing for their own characters. They are artists ruining their potential. It's hard to do, but try not to put your talent on things you didn't create. You'll have more respect that way, and respect beats popularity any day.
