Happy holidays, all! In celebration of the season, the theme of this week's feature is the Christmas holidays, displaying 12 great origami works from all over dA for your enjoyment on this special day.
From Wikipedia: Origami (折り紙 origami?) (from oru meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper") is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a representation of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without the use of gluing or cutting the paper, and using only one piece of paper.
We have some very talented origami artists here on dA that you may not know about.
Go check out their work! Maybe you'll be inspired to do a little paper folding of your own!
Me too! There are so many more I could have featured, but I was running out of tabspace in Safari. I can only hope to be as good with paper as these artists are some day!
I'm in a very Christmassy mood. I think it would be such a cute Christmas idea to make this little boxes and hide small gifts instead. I must remember it for next year.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
