GayBiWorld Artist Feature - Issue #2

=Romaji:iconRomaji: reports, November 19, 2008
GayBiWorld Artist Feature - Issue #2

DeviantART being one of the leading art sites with tons of members, it houses so many different individual with their own special style of art. This news report is to expose those many different individuals. The individuals that are chosen to be featured in this article are completely random, yet they have one thing in common. They are all members of #GayBiWorld (or GBW for short). The featured artist of this article (and the continuation of GBW Artist Articles) are all members of GBW.

*Small side note info – (#GayBiWorld is one of dAmn’s leading LGBTIQ&S (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Intersexual, Questioning, and Straight) chats.)

The featured artists in these articles are all chosen randomly out of the GBW member list. But on occasion, someone may recommended a certain member and they have a chance to get featured in that weeks article.

Here are some things to look out for in this week’s special edition:

- Interview with the GBW Artist of the week.
- Competitions and Prizes!
- GBW Features
- And much much more! :D

Well, without further adieu here is the article. Please take your time to enjoy and read it.

Oh! And +Fav’s are very much appreciated. :aww:

:bulletblue: GBW Artist of the week: An Inspirational Artist from Germany, who’s gallery is a “A work in progress.” Although she deals more in digital art she have been trying different styles throughout her years here on deviantArt. She has managed to sell a few, mainly her acrylics and water paintings (none of which you will find in her gallery, but maybe you will in time), but she tells us she still has a ways to go before she settles on any style completely.

This is what she thought of being this week’s GBW Artist "asljkaqgea YAY :glomp: :iconhuggleplz:… I mean... YAY! This is so cool! Thank you for picking me! :D I am highly honored."

Here is some of her Artwork:

:bulletgreen: What does art mean to you?
Art is an expression by others. The expression can be shown in many different ways. You can sing, dance, draw, paint, or create that expression. An expression is a form of emotion. Good art touches on an emotion. I find that the best and most well-known art and artists all have certain physical expression in their art. Their hope? to convey to the audience this expression. Bust say you look at a doodle. Is that considered a form of expression? Well sure. Why not? The art might not exemplify outward expression to the intended or unintended audience, but the artist was sure to be feeling SOME form of expression while doodling. So what does art mean to me? Simple. Art is my way to express myself. If you look closely at how I draw, or the colors I use, or even they way I have improved, you might be able to find subtle hints about my character. It's all in the expression I use as I draw, sing, or dance. It is all in the expression I want to convey through such measures that makes art special to and for me.

:bulletgreen: What is your favorite type of Art?
I can kinda say that I actually like all types of art. The featured section of my journal holds art that I usually mark as a favorite. They range from digital art, traditional art, painted art, vector art, photography, and much much more. I can tell you what art I DISLIKE though. I dislike art that seems to be going nowhere. As if the artists who had created such a thing is stuck and unable to move forward. But overall I like all art, I love all expressions.

:bulletgreen: What inspires you the most?
My ideas, my thoughts, and personally anything I see and anyone I look up too. When I get artist block I tend to draw other's characters. I cannot draw fanfiction for the life of me. Although I wish I could. But I tend to draw or read where ever I am, with tool, and on anything. It is wonderful as an artist to have that feeling that you can draw when you want. I just relax, sit back, and something comes to me one way or another.

:bulletred: *Competition: The competition is to find random amazing artists on Deviant ART that has Fewer than 5000 Pageviews and do not join into GayBiWorld chat. Just note me with the Username and title the note “GBW Competition”. The winner will be featured in the next issue of GBW ART, and will also be featured in my journal. Good Luck. <33

:bulletblue: GBW Features!

Good for a starting manga/anime artist. From this piece you can tell that the artist is still in the phase of finding their own personal style. A bit messy in places, the art does give off a good expression of a couple hugging in a close-friendly way. The coloring is a bit choppy, but does not take away from the image. Very nice.

This photo clings to see the roses quite nicely but the use of transferring focus to the roses in the back by blurring the rose in front gives a sense of duality that is hard to remove one’s mind from. In other words the blurred rose distracts from the overall photo, but otherwise it is a very nice photo.

What a nicely growing style! This artist has a lot going for them if they focus more on cleanliness. Now. The art itself is a good representation of the character Link from Zelda. The thick outling as a border hedge on the character gives it a color book feel, which makes it seem more professional. Again the style is rather nice, leaning more into the anime/manga category but giving the over all art piece a 'cute' look.

Cute. That is about it though. I can tell that the creature was not thought out too hard, but perhaps it was meant to give off a simplistic 'cute' feel to it. If so, then the artist did a spectacular job. However I do has some reservation about the random black dot to the left of the paper, and the shoddy way the art was photographed. It would gain more appeal if it had been scanned.

GREAT anatomy! It is hard to get a full body shot with correct anatomy in every way, esspecially for an anthro art. The simplistic background is good, as it leads the eye to the main characters in the art, no matter what corner you look at. The blur tool was used over much, but otherwise this artwork was done very well! The detailing on the clothing is also a nice touch. Points to them!

Not bad not bad. The style of drawing for the muscles on the character is a western style, but not offensive to look at. The coloring is a layered in- dark, shade, skin, highlight- style and is best used when pixelating, but seems fine for this peice. The cloud and horizon give the peice a sense of depth. This piece is okay in standards.

This art work has a nice 'soft' feeling to it. The nice purple background gives a nice watercolor effect, and in fact makes the character look to have fine wings. The outfit is very good and the overall look gives a nice ethreal feel to the elf. The crown is esspecially good in detail. It seems to be made of wood, giving off an antler effect, which is not bad. Nice clean lines add to artwork and makes it pleasing to veiw.

Cute and simple. It seems it did not take very long to make. But it gets the point across- It is a witch and the art was most likely done for Halloween. The theme of the spider web throughout the outfit was a nice touch. So was the use of only three colors, black/white, red, and greys. It makes the turgouise eyes stand out.

The anatomy in this art is off, and the photo of it does not add to it at all. It would have been better to scan it, or take the photo while the art was under a good light source. It likes awkward to see because of her shoulder being so high, and her head so low. It seems as if she has no neck. However, her clothing and the detail put into the wings gives it more appeal. It was a good idea to put rocks in the background. Without a form of depth or background the peice might have been a complete waste.

The title says it all, and the style is magnificent. Similar to modern chopped art, this peice does a good job in sketch paint in digital art. The colors are warm and summery and give a happy feeling. Very well done!

A brilliant representation of Naruto! The artist took the character and gave it their own style. Although it is labeled as fanart, the over all picture is all his. The coloring all blends well together with the characters original coloring, a goof feat for most artists to accomplish. The blurred cherry blossoms do not take away from the character at all, and the grin on Naruto's face just screams 'hoolagin'. Simply Amazing! :star:

Very nice! The photographer took this picture in the right enviorment: No light except for the christmas light, and at an angle that most photographers would fail to find interesting. Blurring the right objects focuses the scene and the border was a nice ending touch to encase the entire photo. Good job.

A very interesting character to say the least! Good anatomy and a very orginaly style in drawing the wings, gives the art an individual look. Good.

Surprizing! At first look it seems as if the border inking seems like it came from a coloring book! Uses would have to look at the artist page to get a good feel for the fact that the inking job by the artist in this piece is authentic. The coloring is good as well, but the picture in general is focusing more on the thick black lines rather than the color. Nicely done!

Adorable! And very well drawn onto a pair of white shoes! the detailing is well done as well. I would be able to comment more if I knew what tools they had been using when completing this artwork, but I assume it was a special type of clother marker. If so, the artist has done a spectacular job in managing such a tool. Extordinary and well done! ( [link] Commission on the bottom half.)

Starting next issue we will have a “Random art features”. Which means that these Random artists and their art do NOT have to be members from the GayBiWorld chat. :D So if you think someone has great art (or yourself) but fewer than 5,000 just note me with the Username and title the note “GBW Competition”.

I would just like to thank everyone who took the time helped make this project possible. Especially *WereKitty14v for helping with the first issue ever =] Girl, you rule! :w00t:

I really like the idea, and, I think it's a great way to bring the community together.
Really good advice that makes one look at the picture differently.
I love the span of art you chose, and the fact that none of the artists were really all that well-known.

^^ Thank you. I always try to bring the community together in my work.
And I think it's better to show artists that aren't really well-known then keep showing famous artists over and over again. ^^
