Before I begin I'd like to stay I really don't want to be griped at for this I'm just stating a point, or more a less something I've noticed.
Epidemic is the most fitting word I could think of cause it really fits. If you've been here for a long time I bet you've noticed you've started getting less and less favs and comments. Many people have and now they've started posting 'COMMENT BEFORE YOU FAV OR I'LL EAT U!oneoneonelvenz!' And other equally stupid stuff. I imagine that is part of the reason some people have stopped commenting, faving and even posting their own art, in more extreme cases people will just get up and leave dA. I think leaving is a bit over the top, but people will do whatever it is that they desire. However, point is with no comments or favs finding people or making new friends can be troublesome. Then center of drama dA starts loosing its touch. Drama is plaguing dA's pages, as well as art thieves. Then the death threats start and other support them. Which brings up my next point.
dA isn't much of a community anymore. Its becoming more of an industry. sure dA staff need to live too; and I don't mind its just dA's safe and friendly 'community' is failing. Art theft, paranoia, drama, just to name a few is ruling dA. I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this happening to them. I know a certain amount of my friends and I have realized this. I've been discussing this topic on and off for a while with a few people mainly *
Thowra though. We both agree highly that dA's community isn't as fun as it once was. Sure some people have to grow up and get off the computer, but you know what? It doesn't matter. Those who stick with us on dA's perilous journey are seeing this. dA is falling apart but we want to hold on until the ride ends at a happy place where more people come. Hopefully at the end of the ride there will be memories of joy rather than the realization of dA's industrializing.
Yes dA is like everything else in the world. It is whatever you make of it, I realize that but I'm just putting this out there.

There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present."
And I am really more then happy if I get anything at, just views even.

Grapes explode if you put them inside Jessica.
There are a select few that just churn out faves and never comment. I often receove more favs than I do comments and its really disheartning to see my hours of work unnoticed
I do of course have my friends that always leave a comment - but thats it really >.<
Usually If I never comment (I rareley try to do this) it is because my computer crashes from lame dial up - but Ill always try to give some feedback

Why when people ask you "what three things would you bring with you on a desert island?" no one ever replies, "A BOAT"
Another thing I have also noticed, is that people who have popular characters continue to receive oodles of fanart, while other people who have characters that are just as deserving never seem to get any. Back in the old days fanart was going everywhere to everyone, and now it just seems like fanart goes to the more talented artists. Those people have a huge following, even though we all started out in the same place. People are definitely picking favorites these days, and I think it's creating a little resentment in our equine community.
*sigh* I could go on forever, but recently I've just been mostly disappointed with the community here. It's why I haven't been nearly as active as I used to be. I used to rush home and spend hours and ENJOY myself here, and now I'm hesitant to even check my messages on a daily basis. Why? Because I know that other than absolutely ridiculous teenage vent journals, there wont be anything new for me.

With many of the art works I've made comments to, I have recieved replies or not even a, "thanks for looking." If our comments aren't acknowledged, why should we bother actually commenting?
At least others are grateful when I favourite their works. Maybe you should focus on making your art better than maybe someone will actually want to comment.

selective recreation of reality...
You do strike a good point with the industry fact. Though thats the thing, this site is turning more industry than community when dA is always showing off its 'we're a community' face, when the community is starting to fall apart.
