Tips and Tricks to kick the block
1. Listen to your favorite song over and over, memorize the words, feel the beat of the song. Think of the images that come to mind when you hear the song.
2. Try looking at an everyday object in a different angle, a different light, or even a different setting. Try thinking of what a microwave would look like underwater!
3. Think of a new use for something you use every day. Draw it out.
4. Grab some sharpies, markers and pencils. Just starting drawing circles and basic shapes. Doodling exercises that are simple like this can be the most relaxing and also its a good way to perfect those lines and circles.
5. Grab a coloring book and some crayons! Work on improving your shading and coloring skills.
6. Open up MS paint and give pixel art a try.
7. Draw yourself with an unusual hat.
8. Draw trees from Disney movies
9. Give cartooning a shot
10. Try out painting with anything but a paint brush
Also remember that the stock photo section is your friend. You can always find a reference there; also seeing other images is a great way to inspire yourself to create a whole new world. Just remember to give the artists their credit and then go nuts.
Hope you can kick the block!
