:
"So I went into this Apoholics Anonymous group I had been hearing about for over a year and thought it might be a good idea to check it out. My friend said it is a monthly session that helps deal with your fractal addiction. A lot of people showed up and shared their own favorite fractal pieces and thoughts, and this is how it went:
The first person to say something was someone named ^
cmptrwhz and he had this to say about his favorite piece:"
A Touch of Love, by ~Agorphia
"This image really shows a great concept of unity between couples. The wedding bands on the right side intertwined together shows where the two are one, on the left side of the image there is the representation of the times were there is dis-unity, in the center you see the sphere and the cube (representing two genders) coming together as one, and the base image behind it all shows the circle of life as couples will be united as one and the times of dis-unity but always coming back to unity."^
cmptrwhz also just felt the need to binge on a few of his favorites:

"The next person to step forward was another one of those odd people with letters and numbers in their name. Her name was =
ba8y6irl and she told us about her latest fractal fix:"
Fire Flower, by =n8iveattitude1
"Light combines two very different elements here, the softness of the flower and the boldness of the fiery edges. This piece of art is very passionate and will quickly catch your eye with the detail and colours."But she didn't stop there, no. She had to continue on and told us about her other favorites for this month:
"The next person to talk in the group was another one of the new people to the group. Her name was =
CoRayBee and she hadn't done this kind of thing before, but even though she arrived just before the session started, she still managed to have some really incredible fractal addictions over the last month, with one in particular:"
Escher's Bookshelf, by =Meckie
"I challenge anyone to dive in and not get completely lost in this extraordinarily detailed and wonderfully illuminated optical illusion!"Her enthusiasm didn't stop there. She seemed to relish the chance to tell us all about what she was ordering at the
bar, umm...gallery.

"So, I ( `
Phoenix-22 )was up next. I hate to admit it, but I had been sending in my own latest addictions to the group for quite a while, but I never thought I would end up being at one of these. My head was swirling with all the latest fractals I had been consuming and I just threw the first one that came to mind, a secret obsession of one fractal in particular:"
Quaker's Revenge, by *Wick5ter
This is the pinnacle of those 'old-style' flames. The depth, detail, and energy in the flowing spirals all make for a masterpiece of a fractal."What could I say? I was hooked on what they call "the good stuff," those fractals that had the taste of a fine fractal from 1974. But it didn't stop there, I was even raiding all the latest specialties:

"I was quite proud, I really enjoyed sharing my addictions with the group, but it was nothing compared to what =
pantherwitch4982 had for us. She was the last one to go, but she delivered the final punch for all of us addicts. She's been around to a few different of these groups, but with *
Apophysis, she found the right place to speak:"
Raster, by ~DinkydauSet
This takes the boarders variation and adds depth to it with a peacock-esque gradient and textures that really remind me of going to the ocean. Fractals were really her thing, she just seemed like she couldn't get enough of them, and when she gave us some insight into what she was getting addicted to this month, we all knew we were in the right place, and heading on the right path with our addiction.

-------------------------------------------
News:Welcome back to the Apoholics Anonymous everyone! There was a little change for this one because I was writing up the A.A., but only for this one.
Our usual addiction specialist, `
DragonWinter, let us know she doesn't have the time for the group that she used to have, but sent everyone her best wishes, and we thank her for doing the A.A.'s for more than a year and a half.
From now on, =
CoRayBee will be heading up the Apoholics Anonymous, and it should still be a monthly thing. This month we're hoping to do a Christmas fractal edition by the end of the month, so look for version 2.

In other news, we have switched over our submissions to collections and have updated the submission policy. Take a look at the new policy here:
[link] and be sure to take a look at the newest submissions in our
favorites gallery.
Oh, and one more thing on submissions:
You may have seen our number of deviations getting smaller and smaller and many of you may have received a

from the group, this is because we are going through the group's gallery to turn any grandfathered images into collections, and if they aren't in the artist's gallery, we will still keep them in our gallery, along with LTS logs, resources, and any other group-related items.
