The founders of #dAmnbook are currently looking for deviants who are passionate about reading books of literary merit. We know you are out there somewhere, hiding in the shadows in this vast art site.
We are a book club, and we want to offer a medium to promote real-time discussion on books of
literary merit. Yes, books of literary merit; so we're ruling out such books with anime, vampires, demons, lots of smex, witches, etc. You get the idea. Sorry folks, but we are after all a book club that appreciates literature. But don't worry, we won't be focusing on classics all or even half of the time. We love to mix things up! Bring something new and open your eyes to undiscovered pieces that could be mind blowing!
But to make this club possible, we need passionate people who could run and moderate discussions. And not to mention, help planning future meetings. We need all the help we can get!
If you are interested in helping out, please send ~

About dAmnBooks
This group, the brainchild of a few literarily disposed individuals and late night pipe dreams, is what can on occasion happen when a passion and a passing thought collide. What if, however, that pipe found a match? That's what we're here to discover, in essence: how far can passions fuel initiative (and vice versa)?
We don't claim to be out on that epic quest to instill literature in the youth of the world, or save us all from a literate illiteracy, but when it comes down to it is that what our passion can do?. We, as a microcosm of readers, do not pretend to agree on what is appropriate literature, or wish to set a standard for class and style; we just have a common, resounding penchant for literature that we wish to share with those who can relate on some equally personal, unrelatable level-- and if this means that more reading is done as a result, if more people then decide to pick up a book (an act we very naturally feel to be a key to the expansion of yourself as a worldly and individual being), then what have we done if not change the world?
It's always nice when your passion and general benefit potentially coincide; a situation that's rather more than rare at times. So when you ask us Who Are you? and we answer Readers, or when you ask us What Are You Doing? and we then respond Reading, we've told you the basic purpose of this place. We just want to read, but we will be doing more than that, now won't we? We'll be having, as bookclubs are given to doing, group discussions over each selected book or set of books; discussions that amount to Readers talking about their experience of Reading. Yet, let us not understate what these sessions entail for any and all partaking- they are Readers talking about the manner in which, if at all, a book changed how they read, they saw, they thought, they felt, they laughed, they feared, they diminished or grew. Readers learning through each other how to master the Art of Reading (and don't kid yourselves, folks, it's as much a learned technique and trait as any other) and through each other viewing more wholly someone else's take on the world.
And so, as we've already made you endure three long paragraphs: what next are we to do to you? one might wonder. Well, the beautiful thing about this is that it is voluntary, and if you don't like what you see you can move on to another exhibit just like with any other painting on a wall. If, however, you wish to poke a nose a little closer and squint your eyes a bit- you watch us to join us and you read to be active.
You will find above links to specific sections of the club, and these we encourage you to explore, be you a prospective member or someone who simply plans to make this their one-time pass through.
(as should be obvious, dearies, we are now commenced in the initial phases of construction: work with us, eh?)
-The dAmnBook FolksThanks.
