The 12th Poetry (?) Competition
My twelfth, and my first since I was ticked. Hehe. Wow. Well, It is the season to be jolly, and there is nothing I like more than a gift.

Not an ipod or a gucci watch for me though, oh no, I just love personal gifts.

A box of teabags from my boyfriend? That'd be lovely! JPG Classique from my Aunt, ooh yes! A pack of 50p felt tip pens from my mum, nothing better.

Gifts aren't about money, they are about the thought behind them. So this Christmas I want you to use your artistic talents to make someone happy.



The theme is gifts, specifically, I want you to write something for someone else. The person you give it to doesn't have to be a member of DeviantART but you MUST give it to them. Even if its anonymously, so think carefully about who you choose.

It can be about a shared memory, about the person, or just a subject they like, you can do anything with your imagination.



Because its Christmas and I feel generous I am going to make two revisions of the rules, this month I will allow prose under 600 words (short short prose) AND allow you to enter as many times as you like.

Rules
(+) Visual poetry AND Prose will be accepted this month!
(+) Prose must be under 600 words.
(+) Judges will be eligible to win again, but not allowed to cast any vote on their own piece.
(+) Your entry must be sent in a note to me (`Flutterings)
(+) All languages welcome but you must provide an english translation so we can study the meaning behind the words as well as the composition and words.
(+) You must link to this page in the artists comments! (`Flutterings)
(+) There is no age restriction on this competition
(+) We must have received your entry by the time the deadline closes on 23rd of January
(+) The entry must be new. Therefore posted after 15th of December
(+) Important the deadline is in GMT!
(+) The judges will not comment on your work until the competition closes (for fairness sake).

How To Enter
(+) Write a new poem.
(+) Submit it to DeviantART (in the right category please!!)
(+) Link to the competition in the Artists Comments
(+) Copy the address URL
(+) Send a note to `Flutterings with the link in it.
(+) She will post a comment on your deviation saying 'Thanks for entering'. Once you have recieved that comment you are entered in the competition. (Please do not worry if it takes a few days to get this confirmation)
(+) Tell your friends!
