Running as Smooth as Clockwork
We hope you enjoyed this past prompt,
'Clockwork'. It's great to see the entries coming in so swiftly. And we assure you that we are very grateful you are doing so nicely bearing with us on all our technical issues of late! Such understanding members!
If you are unfamiliar with what we do at =
Wordspill, why not check out our
About Us page or perhaps our
F.A.Q. We're sure they'll answer any questions you might have and have you on your way to spilling in no time! Our past features can be found in the news articles of
'Welcome',
'Childhood Dreams',
' Parallels ',
'Staircases',
'Déjà vu', and
'Autumn'.
You can check out the fantastic entries to the previous prompt below! We had a sum total of 13 entries this round, which we think is a pretty darn good effort given the complexity of the theme presented by our mystery GD (yeap, we're still not going to tell you who it is!)

COMPETITION!
=
Wordspill has been going strong for nine rounds now, thanks to you, the enthusiastic wordspill contestants! So for our tenth round we thought we'd do something a bit special. We're hosting a competition! We recently held a poll in our journal to see what people thought would be a good idea for a competition mechanism and we got a lot of voters (including a very thoughtful couple of comments from =
Twilights-Maiden and ~
JerryShepherd, thanks guys!). In the end we decided to go with a modified democracy and make the mechanism of the competition that of a normal Wordspill round, just with a month to complete it and prizes given out according to different categories. So read on for the rules and prizes available!
The rules:This special tenth round will be the same as every other, we'll provide a prompt and you just do your wordspill thing! Easy as pie! The only difference is that rather than two weeks, we're making this round a little longer to help people complete it on time for the competition, so you'll have
one month to complete your wordspill entries. You still note it to us with a link in the body of the note (one link please, we'd rather you put both wordspill and scrubup in the same deviation, makes it a bit easier for us) and we will still update our journal with the entries. So don't be afraid, it's the same as always, only longer
The prizes:Of course, any competition has to have some prizes, so we're offering multiple prizes based on a few categories:
The Random Chance prize:
To be eligible for this
six month subscription prize, all you have to do is participate in this month's wordspill event! That's right, just spill your thoughts onto a page, scrub them up (we really would like you to scrub them up, for those that have only be spilling) and send us a note, and you're in!
The Super Special Guest prize:We will have a very special guest judge (who may or may not be the GD who volunteered the 'Clockwork' theme round) who will pick an entry based on secret ritual and award a
6 month subscription ! Woohoo!
The Mop of the Month prize:
This
six month subscription prize goes to the person who we think contributes the most to helping people recognise the potential of their ideas through insightful critique and commentary on other people's wordspills (Get it? A mop helps clean up spills! We're so witty).
PLEASE NOTE! All these prizes have nothing to do with the content of your wordspill itself. We don't want to limit your direction in writing a wordspill, and it's not in the spirit of the exercise to do so. So don't worry about what you write, just write it!
The theme:Oh, what's that, you'd like to actually know the theme? Of course, this week's theme fo rthe super special tenth round competition is...
Celebration
Celebration! It's been fantastic to have all of you along for the ride with us each week, so the theme of 'Celebration' seems appropriate for the event.
Remember, your piece must be uploaded as a deviation and then
noted to us by the
17th of January. If you have =
Wordspill on your watch list then you'll get a reminder with one week to go, and another with one day to go. Just as a poke!

Good luck, thank you for sticking with us, and happy spilling!
