This is a selection of hot glass in many different forms and applications.
HOT : GLASS
Blown: Blown glass is gathered on a metal blow pipe at temperatures close to 2000 Celsius. Various color techniques can be used both before and after the glass is gathered. It is then blown out by creating a bubble inside the glass then shaping it. It is usually transfered to another pipe with a little blob of glass on the end and the shape is finalized.
Formed: A bit broader of a field. But for this article we will keep it to simple punty formed hot glass. This is where you gather molten glass and form it into a shape or pieces. Usually referred to as sculpture, unless it's jewelry.
Poured: Hot glass poured into a mold.
I hope you have enjoyed these deviations and the talented deviants that made them. Happy New Years
