Welcome to 2009

As the year just begins, we celebrate those who you think made deviantART a great place to be in 2008. Whether it was their dedication to the forums, their presence as a Senior member, or even if they're just a new deviant who has integrated well into the community, we celebrate them.

Now on to the boring bits.

And that wraps up the third run of the Deviant of the Year Awards. This year was so close, the difference between the most and least votes in Deviant of the Year was 5. It was only decided by one vote difference. I'd like to thank my team members from behind the scenes, you've been wonderful. `junoknight, who whilst absent from the front lines provided valuable input for planning. `Tepara, who remains ever advising. I'd like to thank everyone who donated prizes, and everyone who nominated, voted, and even those who criticised us. I'd like to thank =bohobella, who put up with me ranting about various matters, `catluvr2 for making a stamp thingy for us, and everyone who has continually supported us throughout the three years we've been active.

Next year's awards will see us working more closely with you in the community to make our event run more smoothly than ever before.
