Please, please just go hog-wild with your ideas, characters are what make the story!

Now, to stuffy-shirt style business;

Rules:
1. Character design may be drawn, painted, sculpted, sewn, acted, filmed, or whatever medium you feel appropriate. All will be accepted.
2. Entry may be posted somewhere other than deviantart if you feel uncomfortable posting it here, but make sure the link to your entry is usable and viewable by the judge(s).
3. No copying others' character ideas or work. If you steal from another artist and claim their work as your own, your entry will be disqualified. It's okay to be inspired by others and use references, just give credit where due (and ask for permission as needed).
4. You may submit as many entries as you like as long as they follow the rules.
5. Humans, Black Priest Organization Members, Akuma, Noahs, and any other types will be accepted. Maybe even a mix?
6. Nothing gross, rude, profane, insulting, or otherwise infringing on common decency will be even considered. Please use common sense when submitting; don't draw your character nude with Marian Cross and call it art.
7. On that tangent, your character may be done with other D.Gray-Man characters; don't feel confined to the zombified pose most use in a reference sheet. Nothing's wrong with the latter, just don't think that's all you're allowed to do. (Although zombies would be funny)
8. Previously existing characters (of your own) may also be used, but preferably redrawn for the contest. Old artwork is less likely to win than work done as an entry.

Prizes:
To be specifically determined, but know that there will be first, second, and third place winners, as well as honorable mentions if enough entries are submitted. Prizes will likely include colour or black and white art commissions, as well as a rendering of your character by ~quesokage, and whatever else is donated later down the road.

Deadline:
All submissions are due by March 14th, 2009. The deadline may move to a later date, but rest assured it will not be moved to an earlier one. If for some reason you miss the deadline by a few days but still reeeeeeeeally want to submit something, please note ~quesokage with your issue.

So please submit people, I was shocked by the lack of contests for designing characters (d.gray-man contests too) on deviantART. I mean come on! It has potential for some of the best work, and there are very few limitations (if any?) on some really good creative genius. So show us all what you've got!
