NOW MY OPINION ABOUT THIS

Alright as you can see, the article was very long, in my opinion is a very complete article about the actual situation that deviant art is going through in this very particular period of time in history.

I have only been in this page for a year now, and since I joined these were and have always been the examples of the images that you will mostly find on the front page, I would have to say that I am not a front page checker, I usually log into deviant and go straight to my message center, I happen to check daily deviations every now and then and obviously see that art is lacking of variety and originality in the site, BUT HEY THIS IS NOTHING NEW.

I agree with many of the things that =ailime posted in her article but also didn't with some others, if one thing I know is that ART is WIDE, at school, once I asked a teacher what he would consider art and he told me he didn't like defining art because it was like trying to cover the sun with a finger, You understand me, You do can cover the sun with your finger if you put it very closed to your eye, but there is only needed someone to come and push that hand away to mess everything you believed in up. Every head is a world and each of these worlds is different.

I might not find artistic a photo of a close up of a bad shaven vagina but the person that took this image might have a purpose for it, OF COURSE, there are others that simply DON'T HAVE ANY PURPOSE AND THEY ARE FULL TIME PERVERTS.



I did not agree with the part where she said that we are all page views whores, I AM NOT A PAGEVIEW WHORE, neither do I care for page views??? COME ON, I am here for personal purposes, not for popularity or page views, I like comments better than anything else.

Neither I agreed with a part where she said that a painter or artist knows less about art because they don't know how do use the traditional techniques that were used by the ancients, specially this part = Those people needed real fucking talent to paint accurately their clients. There was no Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp and photography back then. They had to learn light, shadows, laws of physics, laws of colours, have the real eye for details and deliver something real and solid. If the portrait had fancy frilly transparent white flowing veils, well, they couldn't just set that layer's opacity to 15% and voila nice blending done !

I don't think the medium makes the artist, I am in the middle of the whole, I am self taught painter, and this means that I have not had any instruction from anyone, I don't use reference photos in most of the cases and the shading, colors and compositions are something that I entirely invented myself. I have read books on this superficially and did not like any of this parameters, but since art is something free, and an artist is a FREE THINKING CREATURE Why would one have to care about these whole parameters and composition rules from millenniums ago in order to achieve something that will express what you truly feel inside?

This is it, if you start enclosing art with rules, parameters and a lot of restrictions then all you'll have is the same creations everywhere and nothing of individuality, take a look at my style, I mean COME ON, was this even accepted as something artistically well done before, IS IT NOW??? I think that as an artist I am just beginning, I can't consider myself an artist when I don't think that what I do truly covers the expectative of any artistic trend???

Classification disputes about art in Deviant Art are over used; it is a free domain, with probably more than 10.000 members where probably there are submitted over the 100.000 pieces in a day, and in these members there are young people, kids, teenagers, adults, perverts, masochists, disgusting old farts that love to masturbate to stolen cheese (we love this one right Ayu ) and much more.

So, many photographers take a photo of a vagina in bad state and they place it in the following categories =

Photography > People & Portraits > Self-Portraits= What I get from this is that the person uses their genitalia to put a photo in their curriculum when they are going to go job haunting because I mean is a self portrait

Photography > People & Portraits > Artistic Nude= Some how the photographer believes that the textures in their genitalia can work as an artistic resource.

THE THING IS, that in deviant ART they don’t have the category

Photography > Genital > Bad Hygiene

Or

Photography > Female > Ridiculized figure This for the oversized boobs girls that everyone so much adores.

See, if Deviant Art truly started worrying about all the disaster of submissions that are uploaded every day in each of the category it would take them 100 years to clean the whole data base, and WHO IS GOING TO CARE?

And asides from doing what the video advices you to do, try to concentrate in your personal creations, and artistic development, pay most attention to what YOU DO before you criticize what everyone else does, try to improve YOURSELF before you try to improve the rest around you.
