What's this all about?

To celebrate the awesomeness of horror photography I'm holding a big shiny kick-ass contest! You are ALL welcome to enter, whether your gallery is full of scary pictures already or you've never taken a horror photo before in your life. Rather than give you a specific theme or subject to shoot, I'd like to take this opportunity to pimp all the facets of horror photography so if you'd like to enter...

Go to the From Atmosphere to Zombies news article (an illustrated A-Z of horror) and choose from the list ONE topic/concept that you'd like to represent in your photo.

Rules

Your entry must...
have your chosen subject as the title of the deviation
be submitted to Photography > Horror & Macabre
therefore obviously be a photograph
be your own work*
be a new deviation, submitted after 7th January 2009
not violate any of deviantART's policies

ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, PLEASE!

This is not an official dA contest, meaning that anyone can enter, even Gallery Moderators and staff.

How to enter

Once you have taken your photograph...
Submit it to Photography > Horror & Macabre
Note me (^RockstarVanity) with a link to your entry

The description of your deviation MUST contain the following text (just copy and paste it):

Start date: 07 January 2009

Prizes

First place: A one year sub (from `FallenRox) and a 9x12 print from =piratephotography's gallery
Second place: A 6 month sub (from $Moonbeam13)
Third place: A 3 month sub (from $Moonbeam13)

Prize subs can be donated to other deviants or clubs and can also be used for your own alternative accounts (your stock account, for example). You can choose to have a dA print of the same or lesser value than your prize sub if you prefer and are also welcome to donate your print to another deviant.

Judges

The reason I'm having selected judges rather than run voting by poll or note is that I don't want this to turn into a popularity contest. It's for ALL deviants, both long-time members and cuddly noobs, and I would hate for anyone to be at an advantage or disadvantage because of the length of time they've been using the site or the number of friends and watchers they have.

Other stuff

I've made a stamp to promote the contest and it would rock if you would help pimp the contest by displaying the stamp in your journals (and by faving this news article!). All entries will be collected (I'll link to the collection as soon as there's something in it) and displayed in this journal entry.
