I have argued many times in the past that dA is
not a social site such as Myspace and I have riled against the sort of imagery normally associated with such places. After all dA is a place for art is it not?
Yes and
No!I still abhor the type of imagery we see on the likes of Myspace/Facebook as it tends to be thoughtless and random, my opinion will not change on that and I do still wish that those that wish to partake in this type of "art" (in the looses of terms) would keep it to Myspace/Facebook or whatever is the latest must be on site out there and not bring it here.
But as for the social side well I think I had an epiphany!!
dA
is a social site with a difference, its a social site for artists, we share a common passion, maybe not all the same genre but a passion none the less. We are though fortunate enough to make friends and socialize with others here on dA who have the same passion.
Look at your friends list, how many do you have? How many to you interact with? I am lucky as I have a few and I interact a lot. As an example I asked for stickers for my camera box (a metal battered one) and they have started arriving from all corners of the world. I think this has helped me get my head from up my ass and just maybe start to
not take ourselves too seriously.
Like it or not, dA
is a social site and thank whatever god you believe in for that

dA is good community, it just takes a while to get inside, but once you're there you'll love it
There you have it Mike, what more could you ask for in these somewhat negative times.
those who have just begun their way in art have right to post their "first steps" in order to evolve. Artist's evolution is one of the main mission of dA, imho....

"The outcome of the Photograph depends largely, on the chosen subject and how it was taken, the camera itself is just a medium to register your idea's about the subject"

In my opinion the people on dA are friendlier and more courteous than the people that you meet in day to day life
