Literature

Attention all MaleMale and/or FemaleFemale writers

~HippieNote:iconHippieNote: reports, January 10
  • Were you ever told your work stinks,
not because it had a lot of grammar mistakes or anything,
but because it involved romance between people of the same sex?

  • Do you have the general impression that 'those' stories are looked down on?

  • Do you feel like opening people's minds?

  • Are you up for a Challenge?

    Then please, read on. =)

Fine work IS fine work, no matter the gender in it.

    As such a writer myself I am sick of getting responses as;
"Your work sucks, people like that are gross."

"You just write ditzy stuff for horny kids -
and you should get a life because this shit is clearly too easy."

    "Stop writing stupid things!"

    ...My writing is not stupid.
Some people just happen to find the subject 'stupid'.
They are offensed by the material and start bashing anything they can find about it.
(Well, call me blonde but why search for something you can't stand..?)

Anyhow; I think it's time we start opening some eyes!
Literature should not be rejected or called bad just because it's about people of the same gender.

    The CHALLENGE.

I call out to every same-gender-writer to make a hetero (female/male) work.
This way we can prove we DO have skill.
We really can show our talent for what it really is.

Don't ignore me because I seem 'just' a fanfiction writer,
I'm so much more than that; don't be one of the people who Judge...
Don't miss out on this opportunity.
I know there are no fancy prizes, but this is for all of us!
Do you need to win something when it's for a good cause?

Stand up for what you believe in.

Last, I'd like to gather all pieces, so please send it to me,
*HippieNote, in a note or in a comment if you will.

:peace:, & freedom of writings.

It's good that you stick up for yorself like that, but it still makes me mad that you actually have to do this, because it sholud really be obvious to people that you're a great writer!
But I guess that just how things work. *Sigh*

    --
Have you ever seen a wormhole?
    :iconlunartiger118:
..... I can't believe you're still getting comments like that. Seriously. That's just sick. Your writings are NOT stupid, and I think if you wrote a novel it would get a number of awards.
And I would do this, but... I still don't have any fanfics up, so it'd be a little weird if I did a challenge about hetro when I don't even have and boy+boy up.
And the idiots flaming you should shut up and get a life. I mean, have you guys ever heard the saying, "If you don't like, don't read"?!? Jeez...
    :iconmorgaineofavalon:
I have one! (somewhere...) I wrote it a whiles ago. I have to find it and type it up. I'll look today, but i can get kinda disorganized, so it may be awhile.....

I may have one, but it's on my second account, ~VisualLoKi it's called "The Target" and it has BB paired up with my OC, Elle

um.. it has more than one Part so... i dont know if it counts for the challenge
