Discussing page views, activity and popularity, ~ChaoticSkye explores the inner workings of the community on deviantART from her point of view.

Although this does not apply to everyone, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority perceive things from a different point of view from reading this.

Project Comment: Around dA Issue 5

*ProjectComment:iconProjectComment: reports, November 22
Project Comment is all about the community, so instead of just sticking to one thing and effectively closing all our walls and doors, we’re issuing a weekly Around dA, Project Comment style.

This news article includes things you can take part of (Groups, Features, Projects and More!), FAQs and Tuts, Guides and Resources. Each category is limited to only five things so that you have time to visit each individually.

Have something to suggest? Note us! :D

A Piece Of Peace

`Flutterings:iconFlutterings: reports, January 10
Introduction

I've seen a lot of articles about the recent conflict in Israel and Palestine, before that, the conflict in Georgia, before that, Tibet... DeviantART is full of people with ideas and opinions.

But beyond the politics of right and wrong, everyone involved in any conflict has one thing in common. Humanity.

I can't comment on world affairs or resolve them, so for you on DeviantART this is what I can offer you - a reminder of our blessings.

The small things that make all the difference without us even knowing... (in no particular order)

1. Friendship

2. The Beauty In Our Surroundings

3. Guilty Pleasures

4. Even Guiltier Pleasures

5. Material Things

6. Our Furry Loved Ones

7. Romance

8. Colour

9. Childhood Comforts

10. Music

11. Art, Literature, and the love of these things

12. Things To Obssess About...

13. Good Health

14. Peace, in our hearts and homes

15. Those we love, who love us back
In my case here are 15 people who have helped me with my own peace this year.

Conclusion and a Challenge

So, to close off this article I want to ask you, the reader, to tell me what brings you peace. What clears a troubled day from your mind, who makes you feel good, does a bubble bath help, or do you have to be tranquilised to stop yourself from worrying if you left the toaster on?

Focus on the peace that you can hold onto, as we pray for a peaceful resolution to conflict.

The comment that makes me smile the most (and no I wont accept any that mention me, you little cheats) will win a 3 month subscription.

That's all, be peaceful and be kind to each other.

Kate x

When I am stressed I simply take a walk round the block in just a Tshirt. (we're in minus figures here) Then after nearly freezing to death, I get home, run to my bed, and can think of nothing but how content I am to finally be warm.

Keep up the good work

The most peaceful moment of my day is when, after all the troubles, I finally get a moment to call my girlfriend and hear her say she loves me.
I can then feel through her words, even at the long distance, that it's true love and I'm indeed the luckiest man alive, all the troubles and worries just vanish when I hear her voice...

Even if I don't win a three month subscription, it doesn't matter because I can live without one: I'm posting this here to help make others smile.

I find peace in a single, vibrant colour that stands out and shines differently from the rest. I find it in sunshine, and in counting the raindrops that fall on my face, hands, window. I find it in nature. It can be found in literature, in a phrase, or even just a single, meaningful word that hits home hard. I find it in that melodic music, a rhapsody that has wings, the songs that make you cry just because the violin hits a particularly striking note. I find peace in friends, and loves, the ones that make you smile just thinking about them, or know just the right thing to say.

Most of all, I look (and find) peace in everyday things. The simple things, the ones that aren't complicated, and that are easily overlooked. And that's what reminds me it isn't hopeless, and that's what makes the world beautiful.

What brings me peace (pace in Italian) is seeing love in the world. What I mean is the feeling that everything is wonderfully good in the world. The air is slightly warm - the birds' voices sound so wonderful and are in sync with the swooshing of the wind and the light rustling of the leaves. Cooling down under a beautiful shade tree on a warm summer day. Kissing a lover in a pool amidst playing children - just because she is so darn cute. Walking underneath strings upon strings of Christmas lights with a loved one at night while the snow is falling softly upon the ground - and the best part about it was this: I made that my first kiss with my girlfriend. :D

Things like that, Kate, bring peace to me.

Hmm...
Well, my top three would be:

1. Talking with the boyfriend, since he knows exactly how to make me feel better,
2. Ranting, because once I get it off my chest I fume for a while and then eventually give up,
3. Dancing or doing something with my hair/makeup/nails. Experimenting and doing something else to occupy my concentration (it involves a LOT of concentration sometimes) really helps to ease my mind.
