Now it's time for September 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it!
Fave Fave Fave!
My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations.
Artists need to be supported.
So don't be shy!
Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not.
Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough
And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month, send me via note the links/thumbs!
You can see the previous features here, in the Index i've created!

That is fucking incredible, and I'm planning to eventually buy myself a new digital camera...but still the price tag is a bit steep, and I can't see myself paying more than $2,000 for a camera until I'm a lot older than I am now...and I don't see this price tag dropping below that [even if it gets a new sensor].

oh
But if youre doing web design, i dont see why you would need anything above 2.11Mp, since anything higher samples at more than 72dpi..
Ive got a Canon Elph S110, got it for 500 canadian about 6 months ago.. and i havnt looked back... great camera.. I wont be dropping it anytime soon to ge something of this size.

this sounds pretty cool - especially if sony will start using compact flash (whcih is an industry standard for devices) instead of their annoying memory sticks.. but no, they probably want consumers to pay as much as possible for equipment arg
or if they had an adapter you could get so you could use a cf card with the adapter in a memory stick slot - or something!
i'm trying to work out the math.. if the camera is 600,000 yen now and will drop to 100,000 yen.. that means its 6 times cheaper once its in production and such? which means it will be 1/6 of 4500 usd, which would be 750 usd.. mmm sweet thats almost affordable
of course i could always get the olympus one that is single lens reflex and has adjustable focus ring and suchs and then i would definately have my compact flash ability...

Death is only the next step.
Memory sticks are not annoying, as I own a Sony PDA and a Sony laptop. The fact that I can hold 128mb of mp3s on my PDA is great, considering the tiny size of the stick. At the same time I see your point about the proprietary Sony scheme, though they've licensed out the stick to many, many other companies which have driven the price down considerably.
As far as this camera being $750 US, keep dreaming. The DSC-S85 is $750, and it's only 3.3 MP (I believe). The logic on the consumer price being 1/6 of $4,500 is fine, but like the article says, "but that is still before the camera is built around it." Meaning, $750 for the CCD alone. I imagine this camera costing at least $1k.
But I still want one.
