Today a new project begins. It is an ambitious one and deals with profound issues.

Just Part of Life: Bidding Farewell is a collaboration between the following clubs and their members:



This article tells you what the project is all about, and most important, how you can take part in it! Please, read on.



What is "Just Part of Life" about?

Just Part of Life is a series of projects that encourage people to deal with their difficult experiences through art, and to share that art with others who are facing similar hardships. The themes of Just Part of Life are the kind that most anyone needs to face in their life -- depression, loneliness, death, sickness, unemployment, prejudice.

Each project results in creating a virtual picture album that anyone can freely use for self-help and self-reflection any time.

Our project this winter is called "Bidding Farewell" and deals with a challenging subject -- death of someone close to us.



Just Part of Life: Bidding Farewell

Never easy to deal with, death is nevertheless an inevitable part of life. During our lifetime we encounter several occasions when we need to take a deep breath and face the truth -- someone we love is gone and will never come back.

We all have our stories and our experiences. Everyone has something to tell, something to share.

Now, we are asking you, the deviant reading this, to think about our subject for a while. Then choose your preferred medium and tell us your story. A story of sorrow and of survival. A story of how someone's death can change your daily life. A story of reminiscence and of bidding farewell. Or whatever your story is about.

We, the clubs organizing this, will collect your art. After the project ends, all the collected art will be used to create a virtual Flash magazine Just Part of Life: Bidding Farewell.



Taking part in the project

Each club takes care of their own area of expertise:

So for example, if you wish to submit a photograph, you will send =PhotographersClub a note that includes a link to your deviation. The note should be titled Bidding Farewell.

If you don't know where your piece of art belongs to, please contact *Acid-Burst-Love-Fed, and we will help you out.

Please notice that only the members of the listed clubs can take part in the project. If you'd like to enter the project, you first need to join the club corresponding to your chosen medium. You will find joining instructions in each club's journal.



Guidelines

When creating art for Just Part of Life: Bidding Farewell, please keep in mind the following guidelines:

- This is not a contest.

- The art should deal with how you personally cope or have coped with the loss of a close person. Your work may be self-therapeutic art, descriptive, symbolic, cathartic, philosophical, memorial. It can be anything, as long as it clearly deals with our theme and with your personal experiences.

- In your deviation description you are encouraged to explain a bit about your deviation and what it means to you. Please also mention our project in the description. Try to keep the deviation description clean from things unrelated to the project.

- All the stock and resources need to be credited. If you make a photo-manipulation, you need to state the source of the photos, even if it's your own. We are very strict about copyrights issues.

- The deviation doesn't need to be a new one. But if it isn't, please make sure it fits our theme accurately. If it doesn't, it might be rejected.

- The last day to submit a deviation for the project is Sunday 22nd March. After that we will start working on the picture album.

By submitting in our project you give us permission to re-publish your art on another web site, but only in the non-commercial Flash magazine Just Part of Life: Bidding Farewell. Your deviantART account will be clearly shown along your art.
