—The Challenge—
Draw one breed of dog that corresponds to each letter of the alphabet. Breed must be represented correctly (no fantasy or surreal elements), though it may be done in whatever style you draw in. In other words, certain traits can be exaggerated to create a cartoon-type character.

Hybrid breeds may be used. (Hybrids are classified as a dog with two pure-bred parents. Mixed breeds or dogs of unknown breed fall under "mongrel" or "mutt.") Breed names may be tweaked to fit letters. If you don't want to draw any of the "H" breeds, for example, you could turn the "Siberian Husky" into just "Husky." Breed name must still be relevant (you can't drop, say, the "Shih" off of "Shih Tzu"). If you have any questions, take the name in question and drop it into a Google image search. If more than half of the images that pop up on the first screen are your dog breed, you can use it.

For breeds not listed, the same rule follows. If you type the name into a Google image search, more than half of the resulting images on the first page MUST be the breed. Same goes for hybrid names.

This challenge is designed with the hopes of improving your artistic skill. To help you see vital differences (because, yes, some people will know the difference) between various breeds. And to help inspire your passion for dogs! There is no time limit, no due date. No one will check your list for accuracies. Just try your hand and have fun!

This is by no means a requirement, but if you participate, I'd love to know about it! I'd love to see what you produce. And if you do a poodle (whether for "P" or "T" for "teacup" or "toy" or "S" for "standard" or "M" for "miniature"), I'll probably fave it! I've got a thing for poodles. And a few other breeds as well!

If you do participate, just have fun with it.

If people seem interested, I will probably make some more of these. One with animals in general, one with horse breeds, or bird breeds. If there's an animal challenge you'd like to see, feel free to drop me a note! I'm always open to suggestions.
