Indigenous Australians and their Art
ANZAC Day
For those of you who aren't aware, ANZAC day is celebrated every year in Australia and New Zealand on the 25th of April. It is a day to remember and honour the soldiers that went to war and risked their lives, some of whom lost them, in Gallipoli. It is celebrated by a parade in nearly every town and city in Australia. The national Anthem is sung, the war veterens march alongside the army, the airforce and other community cadets, as well as any who wish to participate. Most just stand on the side and watch. Also, there are usually ceremonies involving a moments silence of respect and wreaths are presented at memorials. It is a very important and auspicious day on then Australian Events calendar.
