Australia

A tribute to the beauty of the wide brown land as celebrate Australia Day on January 26th. I have collected just a few images to celebrate our great country, and to share some of the iconic things we have down under

This Australia Day, we recognize the landing of the First Fleet, captained by Captain James Cooks in Port Jackson in 1788. This was the first settlement of the European settlers. The day, January 26, is a public holiday, in which we celebrate being Australian.

So whether youre sitting at home, the local park or down the beach, set the BBQ up!

Or head down to the beach to relax in the water during the heat of the day

But remember, you always go out wearing what means the most

If youre in Adelaide, drop in to the Adelaide Oval for the day to watch the cricket, otherwise there is always the TV

By the end of the day, its hot, but cooling so, head down to the beach and watch the sunset with friends

And if you are lucky, enjoy the fireworks put on by local councils, or just enjoy the natural fireworks from the evening storm

Aussie Pride

We enjoy a few cold ones, cheers mate!

We have our own Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins
This bloke was good enough to be our PM, we miss him dearly Steve Irwin

This guy holds the best Sunday night program after 60 Minutes, providing us all with the weeks comedy which after a good laugh, we can face the Monday morning Rove McManus

These guys hold their own. Most of us love em, the rest loathe em. We think theyre pretty smart, top blokes who know how to make fun of everything, particularly politicians, the gullible and the yanks (sorry to my American friends) The Chasers
And this (even though its a stamp) was THE funniest, and greatest thing to happen in 2007, especially at the most important APEC summit. Thanks Chaser boys
This guy has been commentating the cricket on channel 9 all summer long for quite a few generations now, he is quite the Australian gentleman Richie Benaud
This guy is the envy of the English and our cricket God Sir Donald Bradman
Thats not a knife, this is knife. The yanks know this fella real well! Crocodile Dundee
This guy was born and raised here, hes all ours. The truly great, Heath Ledger. RIP
Where these girls provide us with enough irony Aussie humour to confuse other countries. Kath n Kim
Where this guy only knows one word CMON!! Lleyton Hewitt
We are proud diggers, and remember our ANZACs every ANZAC/Remembrance Day
These guys are one of the many emergency services that protect us.

Where this guy is considered a tosser, but the BEST bowler of all time Shane Warne
Where the MCG is the Holy Grail

The winter sport to play is rugby league and its not soft like the NFL

We often miss the small things in life as we rush through the day doing whatever we need to do to survive in this hectic world.
Cheers!

Then the actress too good for the play,
Spoke the line she'd been dying to say,
"Use your head, seek what's not too far away."
