reports, January 28So, much of the time on deviantart, the work I love the most is not the work that gets the most favorites. So I provided an opportunity for deviants to showcase their top three favorite pieces from their own galleries. Some have written why these pieces are important to them, and some have left it open for interpretation. I encourage you to check out the works of these users and to explore a person’s entire gallery, rather than their featured deviations or the pieces with the most favorites. You may be surprised how much great, meaningful work you can find!

And some users decided to explain why these pieces meant so much to them- sometimes it’s due to the sheer AMOUNT of work that went into them, and some just have personal value. Either way, check them out!
“I'd say that this picture explains what i like doing pretty well - it was the result of experimentation with different lenses and using them in conjunction with each other - the description describes my method”
“When I was getting into photography I always used to take pictures of the sky, and I still think it's pretty awesome what the sky does; this shot sums that up pretty well I think.”
“Similarly, when I got my first camera, experimenting with long exposure and light trails was probably what interested me the most, and it still does. I'd call myself an experimental photographer because i'm constantly teaching myself, and with other people's support (hopefully) getting better"
“i think i'm not very skilled with photography techniques, i just photoshop a lot and that makes my images a little interesting. i like "moments" because i DIDN'T enhance it at all (just curves) and it has the perfect DOF and is pretty sharp and the colors look great. i have also not much experience with people/portrait photography and i think it's quite hard to make an interesting portrait. "strawberry" and "amazon02" turned out great concerning this, don't you think?! ^^”
“i think these are my favorites possibly because they remind me of times when i loved riding my bike everywhere”
“I really love the last one. It remind me summer and the song of critters. Sometimes, I believe that photography is a excuse for me to "stay the nose into the grass".
“The last one means the most to me. She's my 13 year old cat and is getting very deaf. She has no fur on her darker ear.”
-“I took this photo of my children after watching them play for a while in the box. They were tearing the box up and for some reason I just thought "portrait opportunity" and grabbed up my camera and stood over them and said "Look up". They were already having fun which is why their faces are so joyful. I even got this photo on the label of a Jones Soda.”
“The reason I pick this one is that I think it's one of my best nature photos. I remember having to climb on some pretty slippery rocks to get out in the middle of the stream to take this photo, but it came out nice.”
“I took this photo for a challenge, the theme was "Opposite". I didn't win, but there was a lot of controversy stirred up over this photo on the page.”
