deviantART's Community Relations Team provides a unique collective effort that seeks to create and sustain collaborative relationships among deviants and to develop innovative opportunities within the global art industry. These relationships are meant to provide and encourage opportunities to foster creative genius. The CR Team acts as a window of information for the community on how to utilize deviantART in a way that will empower and enable themselves as respected and successful artists.

Our ultimate vision is a community of artists that come together unified and strengthened by sharing the belief that they hold the artistic power to create and shape their own success. In order to realize our vision, our mission must be to exceed the expectations of our community, whom we view as partners, and we will accomplish this by committing to our shared core values. 1. Goodbyes

I dislike them, in all of their various shapes, colors and sizes. They are almost never an event to celebrate and often come with feelings of sadness, loss and confusion. Every person that comes into Community Relations, as a volunteer or staff, enhances and touches the community in a positive way during their time - and they should be celebrated for their efforts and love for the community.

With that, I give my heartfelt affection and gratitude to `Nicasus, `ArhcamtIlnaad, `misskittyoooo, `guruubii, `Chimpantalones, ^Myana, and last but not least, `FallenRox, who is a wonderful person and beloved by many. It is my sincere wish that she continue to be deviant and remain a bright presence around the site, and I wish her the best in her future endeavors.

3. Project Streamline

What is Project Streamline? Well it's our effort to try and sort out some of the mess that we lovingly refer to as our category structure. Over the years, we've suffered a build up of unused, unloved categories or we've simply outgrown some of them. In some ways, we've lacked to put in categories when maybe we should have and that's where this project comes in. I had started working on this project last year, and it's high time I get back to plugging away at it and trying to sort out some of the mess. Myself and the Gallery Moderators will be keeping you informed along the way so you can stay up to date and as always, your opinions and thoughts count. For instance, ^Ghouldaddy needs your opinion on Pin-Up Should Pin Up Be Split into Traditional and Old School?.

4. Game Art

Yes, it's true! deviantART is getting a Game Art Gallery. Some may ask... what does that mean?! What is Game Art?

First, let me start by telling you what it is not. It is NOT a new gallery to post your screen shots of your badass World of Warcraft character, nor is it where you submit to show up your ABSOLUTELY amazing Rock Band score. Game art relies on a wide range of technical and artistic skills within mediums such as: 3D modeling, texturing, character design, animation, lighting etc.

While I'm absolutely positive that our community plays video games, I'm also certain that Video Game Art is becoming more popular as a study, and we have many artists currently working in this capacity, or hoping to in the not so distant future. It is with that in mind that we are developing a venue for them to showcase their efforts.

I am currently working on building this gallery and hope to have it ready to release very.. VERY.. soon

5. Contest Start & End Times

Everyone dislikes inconsistencies, especially when it means you mess up and can't figure out when a contest ends and end up missing the deadline because of an oversight or miscommunication. We will be posting contest start and end times in PST from this point forward. All official contests will begin at midnight PST on the start date and end at 11:59 PST on the end date. This means that you can hook up a cool little widget on your desktop that constantly shows you what time it is in sunny Los Angeles and you will never be left in the cold on a contest again!

6. Dolls - Digital vs Artisan Crafts

There seems to be some confusion about Dolls. Our poor ^Pyrochan-dolls is receiving a ridiculous amount of daily deviations for Custom made (hand crafted) dolls. These are suggestions that should be going to ^Kitten-of-Woe in Artisan Crafts, not our Digital Doll Gallery Moderator and we don't want anyone to lose out on great Daily Deviation suggestions! Please make sure you are sending your suggestions to the right person
