Audiophiles, artists, and literature monkeys unite!

That's right, after bringing in the New Year with microphone in hand and waveforms on screen, the team at Soundzine is releasing their brand spanking new issue!

If you're not in the know, Soundzine is a literature e-zine that is run by a ragamuffin group of dedicated staff including the deviantART users =salshep, *Adeimantus, and `apocathary. Our mission statement is to offer exceptional pieces of literature that are recorded by the authors themselves. We think there's nothing better than listening to literature the way the author intended, so if we can't get them to record it, we employ the services of a range of voice actors to get it right. We hope you enjoy the results!

Competition Results

This issue heralds the announcement of the winners of our photo-ekphrastic (fantastic) competition. Entrants were asked to produce a poem based on a piece of photography by the talented Damir Alter Matijevic, entitled 'Time Machine'. We had a whole stack of very strong entries from around the globe, which made choosing the winner a delicious pain. Women, can't write with them, can't write without them

The theme for this issue was 'Woman', and we received some fantastic submissions that wrote to that theme. Come with us as we explore various aspects of 'woman', from the perspective of different sexes, races, and societies. We're sure you'll be moved, regardless of your biology!

A picture is worth a thousand words

And we have some mighty fine pictures to go with out thousands of words! Each piece of poetry or prose is accompanied by a hand-picked piece of art to really get all your senses popping! We draw out some of the best talent from deviantART and elsewhere to give you the best literature experience we can!

Submissions are open for our next issue, which will contain a special feature on sonnets. So if you are a sonnet writer, or know of anyone that is, tell them to get their submissions in! We'll be picking the best of the bunch though, so make sure it's your very best work before sending it in!
