In my
poll the majority of you wished a macro contest, and I find macro awesome!
But there are also quite a few who did not vote for the macro contest, and maybe don't even have the chance of shooting macro.
So I decided to combine the themes, and call this contest
beyond recognition.
The theme includes photography showing anything our eye does not recognize normally. That means high magnification macro photography, abstract or surreal photography. Actually just anything where your photo shows the object from a different view than our eye sees it.
Two examples:

Obviously there will be some rules. Please read them carefully.
One entry per person, and the photo must be your own work.
All macro entries must have at least a magnification ratio of 1:1 (life size).
Exif data would be appreciated, but not necessary.
The contest begins today, Feb 5, 2009
The contest ends April 30, 2009, 11:59 pm GMT
The photo may be taken and submitted to dA since Jan 1, 2009.
The photo must have a minimum size of at least 800px at the longest side.
For square photos 600x600px is okay, too
No photomanipulation allowed, minor adjustments (slight colour adjustment, curve, saturation) are fine.
To submit entries, send a note to me, =Moepling, with "Contest entry" in the subject line, and include a link or thumb to your photo.
Submitted entry will be added to my
collection and a journal.
If you're not sure whether your photo fits the requirements, ask me.
The contest judges will decide on 10 finalists and then 3 winners.
If you want to be a judge, tell me. But judges cannot enter the contest.
Now to the prizes.
I will gladly accept donations of prizes.
Anything would be great, subscriptions, prints,... and of course features.

Devious Comments
If abstract does the subject have to be recognizable? suspected? clearly noticeable? I just have two options, in one the piece is completely abstract bit "powerfil" The other one is a little bit less powerful but the subject is more noticeable...
