So i herd u liek emotes?? - Volume 18

`Synfull:iconSynfull: reports, February 8
Welcome to this week’s volume of so we heard you liek emotes. This is the 18th volume in a weekly series aimed towards promoting emote and emoticonists from the dA community. It features emotes posted within the past week from both well known and new emoticonists, as well as featuring some other great emote projects and contests.

:bulletred: Featured Emoticons: :bulletred:

1.
Cute fail by =MenInASuitcase is one of my favourite emotes submitted this week. The animation of the walk is very smooth and the shading is excellent. The timing of they eye blink is brilliant and really enhances the expression and mood to the emoticon. The idea is very original and executed very well, making it this week’s first featured emote.

2.
I always love to see emoticonists experimenting with different perspectives and styles, which is what drew my attention to Isomote :glomp: by ~Ros-s. The emotes are well shaded and the animation is smooth. The way the orange emote gets slight squished is very cute and the roll at the end is adorable. Overall it’s a brilliant test, with a great end result

3.
I can never say enough times how difficult it can be to pixel a vehicle for an emote, which is why I am always amazed when I see emoticons such as learner driver by =Gnog. The detail on the car is brilliant and although the animation is simple, it doesn’t effect the general look to the emoticon. The addition of the emote under the car makes it all rather amusing, making it another must see emoticon submitted this week.

4.
Animating clothing and cloth is never that easy, but =MixedMilkChOcOlate has done a brilliant job in Tardman. The animation of the cape is perfect right down to the last pixel and the other elements of the emoticon are equally as good. The smile on the emotes face can’t help but make me giggle when I see it and the writing at the top is a nice addition.

5.
:eatingyou: by =PoisonTouch is another very great emoticon submitted this week. The way the emoticon walks is nicely animated and extremely cute. The animation as the left emote grabs the green one is brilliant and the chewing action is faultless giving it a spot in the week’s featured emotes.

:bulletblue: Featured Project :bulletblue:

The tard wallpaper is a ongoing project hosted by =Kermodog. The aim is to fill a certain space full of ‘tard’ emoticons. It would be great if every emoticonist could submit even a few emoticons for this project. A line of 10 could really help boost numbers :D

For a tutorial on tards, take a look at by =BurgerBunny

:bulletpurple: Noticeboard :bulletpurple:

After having a jam packed news area last week, I failed to mention this news article now has a 2nd stamp. *cloudtographer has kindly made to help get word out about these articles. Our other stamp is by =MenInASuitcase :D

This week =BurgerBunny has launched a new emoticon contest. Deviants must make a ‘tard’ emoticon and submit it before the 1st March. For more details check out her journal

There have been great developments this week over at =Emotication A new tutorial search application has been submitted, kindly coded by =MixedMilkChOcOlate. The application is still under construction, as the tutorials (all 154 of them) have to be manually added. However its an amazing step forward for the club. You can check out the application here and MixedMilkChocolates other tutorial searcher on this page.

=Emoticiety has launced its monthly contest for February. You can check out the details on this page

We are still looking for a new emoticon Gallery Moderator (GM). Over 18 and want to apply for the posistion? Check out this journal for details.

=psivamp posted a news article on Emoticons for beginners. If your interested in emotes, its worth a read :)

I’m planning on a valentine’s feature for the next edition. Emotes for this feature can be from any year, but must in some way represent love, hearts, valentines day or similar. Have an emote you would like to see featured? Drop me a note :)

Also, congrats to =Kermodog for winning =KatiBear’s addiction contest, with his emoticon

:bulletblack: Notes :bulletblack:

If you would like to suggest a project, emote or emoticonist to be featured please leave me a note on my =Synfull account. I am also looking for more questions and tutorials to be featured, so any suggestions are welcome . Tutorials do not have to have been submitted in the week of the news article.
