It's up to you to believe or not. Media isn't capable of exposing ALL that happens with the world. And sometimes they also hide happenings on purpose.
If you doubt, you can also check others sites that show the riot that fangirls already caused.

This one was published because it ocurred in an open place with lots of people. Some cases don't go to media because of tiny repercussion.
(and an advice: don't rely in media if you want to know the true of the world. Rely in your teachers and in what you see for yourself. Even internet with its conspiracional theories can be more trustful.)

Suddenly in a fit of rage, she picked up a beaker full of acid, and screamed 'You bastard twilight hater!!!' and threw the whole beaker of acid in my friends face. He screamed, and tried to get away, however the girl, obviously not contempt with ruining his face, got a compass out and proceeded to stab him several times with the compass. I was in a state of shock, but somehow I managed to gain enough sense to be able to knock the compass out of her hand, and tackle her to the ground. she was kicking and screaming and clawing. Damn people, this isn't for the "lulz", people are really getting hurt because of obsessed fans that can't accept different opinions!
And this also makes me wonder why people fight so hard for things that they don't even own or created. I mean, insulting the show/book/music is like...insulting their own mother.
THINK. THINK HARD. Most of the authors and creators don't even know that you exist. Is all this effort worthy? Do you realize that you're going to jail doing stupid things just because you're an obsessed fan while the authors are enjoying their millions of money?
Do you realize that EACH TIME you feel you love a show or something, you're beign MANIPULATED by the media to buy something? Companies don't want your love, THEY WANT YOUR MONEY
Do you realize that your fanatic love won't last forever, unless you're a psycho or a submisse person?
Coming back to Twilight. Just realize one more thing. People who JUST say bad things about Twilight won't cause any harm to Meyer. And surely the authors know that dealing with sucess also means dealing with haters. No one is loved 100%.
There are many people who already like the book. Don't force people who don't to enjoy it! Would you like to be forced to eat cockroachs? Would you like to be forced to listen to a music you hate? THEN RESPECT OTHERS

PEOPLE WON'T ALWAYS THINK LIKE YOU WANT.
Don't you guys realize that these actions are somehow similar to those fanatic religious war? I mean, people who hurt other just because they don't agree with a point of view.
People who hurt others just because they are homossexual.
People who hurt and throw rocks at women that truly love a man instead of going to an arranged marriage.
People who forbid an anime from going to air because of a silly country joke. *Hetalia COUGH COUGH* (I already know lots of shows that make stupid jokes of Brazil, and guess what? I LAUGHED -Simpsons are right. Brazil has gay money colors.-)
And now people are being NAZI and breaking others' arm because of... a book! It's too much stupidy for my own knowlegde!
Just think a bit and you'll understand why the world is so messed up.

...No, seriously, here, I already thought it was stupid enough to harass a person with word because he/she doens't like the same thing as you, but it sounds nothing but ridiculous. You can't force someone to like it, you can't break an arm, throw a brick, threat with a knife or beat until almost death just to prove your point. ...It really happened, absurd as may sound.

I don't have anything against the peaceful fans, but getting agressive is not going to fix anything, you know (it usually just gets things worse). It's okay to like a book, a movie or whatever, but you also need to learn that different people think different. Insulting or beating those people who think different from you is just ignorance. Are people turning into animals or something?

In my humble opinion, the world needs some sense of humor. Why take so seriously what a person says? Why did Korea fight over that Hetalis episode? Geez, you're all making a big fuss around small things, how can't you see this?
I know there are plenty of people out there who don't enjoy the same things I do. A story that means the world to me may sound ridiculous on other person's ears. And honestly, if I pick a fight with everyone who disagrees with me, I'm screwed. 8D Of course, I agree there's a level of tollerance towards joke, but you also need to balance your own actions and words.

Think about it: all the world's problems are there because people tend to judge each other without listening carefully. Do you really want to take part in it? Do you really want to impose your thoughts into others? Without listening first? Without thinking? Even if there's the slighest change you might be wrong? Why do people fight about such trivial things? Please learn to respect what other think, even if you don't think the same.

I'm not talking only about twilight, but everything that causes misundestanding and meaningless rage. Just think if it's really worth the price. So, your ideology is worthier than an arm? Than a life? Do you want to be like a nazy? Really?

I'm begging for some common sense here, would you help? That's about all fanatic behavior. Here in Brazil we have a saying... All that is too much can't be good for you. I totally agree. Respect is the word here.
