Hello everyone, & welcome to another edition of Mini-DDs! Where fave-raping, sugar-powered twisted minds fry their brains even further in order to feature a heaping of DD-worthy artwork...All for the sake of family-friendly entertainment, of course!

Now, first thing first, I really need to give an extreme load of thanks to ^skifi for promoting my Mini-DDs in a recent journal entry of his...He was extremely kind & generous, & it even helped these little articles gain a bit more attention...I really felt pretty flattered throughout all of it! So props to our lovable bull for his glowing words, he really rocks!

But that entry also reminded me of another Deviant who does some sweet features in the news as well...& she definitely deserves promotion like that as well!

I am talking about the lovely `DreamingMyth, whose weekly "Fresh Meat" articles (the latest of which can be seen here) are truly some amazing pieces of work! Compared to most tributes like these which just feature a bunch of thumbnails, DM really puts some true effort & love into every edition, writing some truly lovely words for each truly lovely artist she features. It really is some amazing stuff, & as someone else who does a weekly set of written features, I can only hope to be called her contemporary. You do an amazing job, DM, & bravo for it (& the rest of you best start faving that Fresh Meat)!

And so for your amazing work, it is my honor to bestow this upon you:



The Golden Jark Award, my own personal symbol celebrating those who have a lot of community spirit & do a lot of work to support those on DA as well. An extremely true honor indeed...& it has a dark chocolate center! With little bits of peppermint thrown into the mix as well, just for someone as sweet as this!

Alrighty then, it looks like we've come up with enough for a competent intro by this point, so now let's get on with the main event already!

Holy crap, how come I haven't discovered =RedSpiralDancer's gallery of awesomeness sooner? His incredible Deviations such as Dual, with a sweet, trippy, & cartoonish style, fiery & blacklight-style coloring, several awesome details & touches right up to the blur effects & texture, & overall amazing & clever take on the whole concept of luchadors easily deserve a hell of a lot more attention & lovin'. So hats of to you, Spiral, for whipping up this lovely eye candy, & here's wishing more success for you & your work in the future!



Well, =PureTails strikes again with his Sword of Amazing Artwork, this time having it take the form of Pick a card, Sir. In fact, everything from that slick & attractive style that does this cool character justice to that mischievous & cocky expression, perfect coloring, nifty concept & the great attention to detail down to the shading & that kickass row of cards is a weapon capable of dealing out kickassery, with the end result being one huge blast of power & stunning artwork that not even the top evil magician could match! Bravo!


*zgul-osr1113's gallery just had so many amazing examples of amazing & uniquely-styled sci-fi/fantasy artwork in it that it was almost impossible to choose just one to feature here...But Frenzy and Grievous definitely deserved to be the winner in the end, thanks to its' inspired concept, kickass sense of action, cool poses, amazing details, & of course, the wicked & lovable sense of humor that's front & center. Frankly, if you don't love this laugh-out-loud dynamic duo, then you are just a soulless automaton, plain & simple.



The swirliness...The swirliness...The chaotic, funky, & lovable swirliness spread throughout MR-I. by =SamKalensky, I mean. It's just one part of what makes this one kickass little cartoon, with the rest being attributed to Sam's attractive style, amazing (& obviously appropriate) use of black & white, cute little pose, & overall semi-surreal feeling. So with one awesome tribute to an equally awesome character, Sam has created one killer & almost hypnotic drawing that you definitely shouldn't pass up!



...Trust me, it's that damn cold up here as well. Seriously though, ~psychohazard bestows yet another eye-popping & unique piece of work upon us courtesy of Iceboy, where the creativity truly shines amongst a sea of mesmerizing & cool colors, surreal creations & touches, a stunning fantasy style, & several sweet details down to the standout carcass & the smallest stroke on it. Overall, this is just one incredible & inspired Deviation that easily deserves a spot in your faves (lest we have this guy hunt you down)!



If there's one thing that I've definitely learned in my time here on DA, it's that mythology always makes for some kickass artwork. And surprise, surprise, Ryujin by ~Flying-Fox is living proof of that! This unique spin on Japanese mythology is just absolutely gorgeous in every way, from FF's mind-blowing style that captures the godlike feeling perfectly, to the coloring with the perfect amount of darkness, the stunning details down to the smallest scale & the underwater glow effects, & every nicely-designed sea critter in general, especially the turtle armada...& you just gotta respect anything featuring a turtle armada, right? Right.



Dear Readers: We regret to inform you that SlyDante recently had to be rushed to the hospital, having recently succumed to an attack of extreme cuteness brought on by *rongs1234's Monster Tea Party. As we were wheeling him into the ambulance, though, he was heard muttering the phrases "lovable, fun style", "Sweet little characters & expressions", "Bright & cheerful colors & mood", & "Simple & adorable concept" over & over. He will pull through, although he also said he plans to view said party again & again. Thank you.



God Bless the Freaks...God bless them, indeed. And God bless you, *KingBarbarossa, for coming up with this clever & joyful design in the first place! With a fun & humorous concept, some nice & lovely coloring, a surreal & cheerful feeling spread throughout it all, & several awesome "old-timey" touches from the font to the textures, this is one kooky & wicked piece of work that does indeed definitely deserve to brace the front of a Grade-A greeting card! And remember, give those freaks the props they deserve!



Man, the originality gods must have been smiling really damn kindly on *devouredex the day he came up with World Within A World! Not only does this drawing have an amazing, unique, & inspired story behind it, but it was also pulled off with such an eye-catching style, some lovely coloring & shading that really suits everything perfectly, & an unholy amount of detail squished into every nook & cranny. Forgive my corniness in saying this, but why those little guys may have found a lot of crystals, they don't realize that they're the stars of a true gem!
