Welcome to this weeks volume of so we heard you liek emotes. This is the 19th volume in a weekly series aimed towards promoting emote and emoticonists from the dA community. It features emotes posted within the past week from both well known and new emoticonists, as well as featuring some other great emote projects and contests.
Featured Emoticons:
1.

From the moment I got a sneaky look at a WIP of Why Jetpacks Should No Exist by =
the-unnamed21 I fell in love with it. It takes all that is good about an emoticon and squishes it into one animation. The idea is extremely original, and the animation is a brilliant test of perspective. The emoticon is animated very well and the shading is excellent. I cant help but giggle every time its posted on dAmn and watch it over and over, which is why it is a must see emoticon posted this week.
2.

I am always amused to see how people can use emoticons in different ways which is what drew my attention to Emotigrapes by ~
Ails. The emoticons are put together very well and the shading is excellent. The faces on the individual grapes is a very nice touch, giving this emote a place in the feature area this week.
3.

Another excellent emoticon posted this week is :WereMote: by =
LeoLeonardo. Not only does it have a stunning background, but also an amazing animation sequence. The transformation of the emoticon is nicely done and the emoticon loops well as a whole. Overall it is a brilliant emoticon that is well worth watching a few time to take in all the details
4.

With valentines day yesterday, there have been a number of hug and love related emoticons posted. You by ^
Hanratty-Stock is one of the ones that stood out. Sometimes just a simple gesture such as a hug is all a person need and this emoticon represents it perfectly. The expression on its face and the hand positioning is brilliant and really enhances the whole emoticon.
5.

:
pond: by ~
CookieStarz is this weeks final featured emoticon. The shading of the fountain on this emoticon is very interesting to look at and each emoticon is nicely placed. The animation is simple yet very effective giving a great look to the overall emoticon.
Other great emoticons posted recently

Featured Project
This week a new emoticon project was launched

hosted by ~
Emoticlown-ist The theme of the project is a skate park and anything relating to it. Both animated and static entries are allowed, and the use of flash for the project allows you to even more the characters around the screen and listen into some gossip. Its well worth checking out and entering, even if its only a static emote to stand and watch.
So grab those decks, helmets and elbow pads and head over to the skatepark

Valentines feature
As stated last week, I am posting a valentines day feature for emoticons made at any point that in some way relate to valentines day

Noticeboard
A new emoticon contest was announced this week. `
ginkgografix is hosting a CSS fairy contest for which a fairy emoticon meeting certain specification must be designed and created. For a full list of details and prizes, check out
this journal.
Hopefully the new set of Gallery Moderators will be announced soon and a new GM for emotes put in place

A closing date for the Blank Emoticon Contest has now been set as 20th March. For more information and updates, take a look at
this news articleI am trying to compile a list of ways to improve the emoticon gallery and community and have set up a poll
here for suggestions
