October 14, 2009, the 30th annual awards ceremony of the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund took place at the Asia Society in New York City. Lu Guang (卢广 from Peoples Republic of China won the $30,000 W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography for his documentary project ollution in China.
By this time, around 4800 submissions of work either inspired by or as tribute to the musician Emilie Autumn do exist here on deviantART. This articel will give a brief overview of - in my opinion - some of the most incredible pieces.
