$lolly's DVD Review...Crank!

lolly:iconlolly: reports, March 5, 2007
Crank. A perfect name for one of the most unadulteratedly fun movies I have seen this year. The plot is fairly simple at face value. Chev (Jason Statham) is a hit man. A bad, bad violent studly old hit man. He awakes to find he has been dosed with a drug that will kill him within an hour unless he keeps his adrenaline up.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

=raine-angel:iconraine-angel: reports, February 16
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind (2004) is one of my favourite movies of all time. I'm not sure if it's the fact I had blue hair at the time of watching it... or if it was the first movie I ever decided I wanted to watch twice in a row... but something about the movie was captivating.

The film trick approach as opposed to special effects has been one of the main things people credit to the artistic feel of the movie as well as the amazing contrast.

While browsing DA I was able to find quite a bit of art in regards to the movie in fanart etc. (Though there was a lot of art theft going on too... how about that!)

So, I decided I'd like to feature some of my favourite pieces for fellow fans to appareciate along side some memorable quotes from the movie retrieved from [link]

Constantly talking isn't necessarily communicating

Well, technically speaking, the operation is brain damage, but it's on a par with a night of heavy drinking. Nothing you'll miss..

Meet me... in Montauk...

Sand is overrated. It's just tiny, little rocks

Why do I fall in love with every woman I see who shows me the least bit of attention?

Too many guys think I'm a concept, or I complete them, or I'm gonna make them alive. But I'm just a fucked-up girl who's lookin' for my own peace of mind; don't assign me yours.

I could die right now, Clem. I'm just... happy. I've never felt that before. I'm just exactly where I want to be.

This is working like gangbusters

Drink up, young man. It'll make the whole seduction part less repugnant.

Sometimes I don't think people realize how lonely it is to be a kid.

random thoughts for Valentine's day, 2004. Today is a holiday invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap.

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd.

Yes, i was just talking with afriend and we decided to start a conspiracy to sabotage Valentine's Day and force the authorities to ban kissing in public so well, i'm not exactly in a romantic mood right now but i like this movie a lot and it actually made me to compile data about actual scientists who are reseraching the human mind to find out how to delete memories, some say that there will be pills to forget unwanted events but only if they're ingested after a traumatic episode has taken place, i can see their intentions are good but it would be like refusing to learn from experience and people would be likely to repeat "mistakes" .
I think that Eternal Sunshime of the Spotless Mind and Shadowlands are the two not-comedy "girly" movies that i like most.

The collection of pieces you chose is just wonderful. Great job!

English does not borrow from other languages. English follows other languages into dark alleys, knocks them over, and rifles through their pockets for loose vocabulary.
