The subject: on Community.
--Note: this was part of my journal and it was suggested to me to make it an editorial. So here it is. *edited language for.. a presentable read*. --
SO. this is getting irritating. Why is it that I have to spend my entire evening lurking on the current DD's in the footer to quell any flaming sessions that are going on, on today's DD's, every second of the day...?

*speaking generally to everyone who did this before*:
No, seriously? this is wrong. Very wrong. If you are guilty of this, I won't condemn you, just rethink the stuff you do for the future... You insult and hurt people blindly, and then complain "dA is going to hell"?!(yes, someone actually said that, while dishing out a nice white-hot flame at someone they don't know for their physical attributes)
.... Who is making it so? Certainly not those innocent artists.

. Instead of separating yourself from the community.. do something to make it better, if you really care. If you don't... the door is over there. You won't be missed.
As you all know, a new set of GD's have been accepted into CR(Community Relations), including myself. I was one of those lucky ones.. who didn't get their DD features flamed the hell out of; some others not so lucky. But it hurts me equally, because I know that any day, it could be me.
Listen carefully to this.. we don't give DD's to reward people.. DD's aren't awards or rewards. They are staff features, and our personal opinion on what deserves exposure to the community. We were chosen obviously because dA staff trusts us to do a good job in bringing fresh art and artists to the table, but your flaming can ruin what we are trying to do, and really, really damages people in the end. Yes, there must be a standard for the quality of art we feature. But most of all, please understand that this standard varies, and it must be accepted.
Remember... flaming the artists we feature hurts them AND us, because it causes them grief, and in the end that makes US feel and look bad; seeing it was never our intention to bring another artist pain through exposure. All they did was share, so it becomes our fault for featuring, not theirs. Think about all these things before you rush on a DD to yell "I hate it!1oone! This doesn't deserve a DD!1!" ... you hurt more people than you realize.
I'll show you what I mean...
Today, on a piece of glamor art that won a DD, the model was bashed left and right, for her bodily structure (by the way she was extremely HOT). I find this incredibly ironic, because you say that skinny women aren't 'real women'. But.. what? who are you to judge? Honestly? It's the SAME as saying that "fat women aren't real women". You don't want others to be shallow towards females, yet somehow you think that it's quite okay to bash skinny women just because they seem to be the 'ideal'.
Think of it this way... you are insulting someone's mother, their daughter, their sister... They are women, and very real at that. 'Skinny' women, just like average and plus-size women, fight and work just as hard to make ends meet. They endure shit and even more shit just like any other woman, and do not deserve to be judged by how they look. If a woman is anorexic, so what? Why cut her down like that? She needs help, and LOVE, not condemning. If a woman is naturally thin: so what? She very most likely eats more than her larger-built counterparts.

Live and let live, do onto others. Follow that golden rule, leave hypocrisy behind.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing us God didn't exist.
A gentleman will win my heart over better than a bad boy ever could. But gentleman or not, bad boy or not, no matter what he is, it's the godly man who has my love.
