Weekly Help Desk Updates - February 26th, 2009Introduction
Welcome to the weekly Help Desk Updates. In these weekly updates we will attempt to bring you the most up to date news concerning the Help Desk & FAQ, as well as provide some helpful hints for super duper deviantART fun.
Hexe's Corner
This week we would like to announce an important change concerning how bug announcements are made in the Status Forum. For quite sometime we have delivered the majority of bugs to you in one mega posting known as Bug Juice. While this has been a great resource to the majority of users it can also be confusing, so we have decided to cancel Bug Juice and deliver each issue in its very own thread.
Ewm's Corner
Need to report a

bug and not sure what to do? When you experience a bug issue with the site the first thing you should do is check the Status Forum. When we experience site wide issues, they are often posted up in the
Status Forum or in our latest issue of Bug juice also found in the Status Forum.
If you cannot find your issue mentioned in the Status Forum or Bug Juice you may want to try clearing your
cache to see if that helps with your issue as well as trying a different browser to find out if your issue is occurring in only a particular browser or in all browsers. The most common browsers used are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. Depending on which browser you use, you may want to disable any Add-ons and Extensions that are installed in the browser to see if they are causing any interference. For some issue, you may want to check using a different computer or try a computer that is on a different internet connection.
Once you have done the preceding and the issue is still persisting you should give the issue some time as some bugs are short lived and Status posts on the issue may not appear as soon as the issue occurs. When submitting your Bug Report to the
Help Desk try to make sure that you explain your issue as clear and concise as possible. Listing instructions on how to reproduce your issue can help us duplicate it. Other information such as when this issue started occurring and what occurred if you tried using different browsers and/or computers can help. Providing
screenshots of the bug can also aid in your Bug Report ticket, so we have a clear visual of what the issue you are experiencing looks like and it can also supply important clues as to what may be causing your issue.

Hello happy Deviants.

The new profile pages look pretty spiffy, but I bet you're wondering what happened to the Desktop Screenshot area we used to have, right?
Well unfortunately this module has been discontinued. But never fear, you can still get your screenshot on your page and show off your mad customization skillz with the Featured Deviation module.
FAQ #90: How do I customize my profile page?Simply click the Edit Page button near the top of your profile page, and choose the Featured Deviation module on the left-hand side of the settings box to customize it with your screenshot!

If you're a
subscriber you can have several of these modules, so you'll be able to display your screenshot as well as other of your favorite submissions. If you're
not subscribed, you will need to choose which deviation you wish to show off, as
nonsubscribers are limited to only one Featured module.
If you had a desktop screenshot displayed on your page before the layout change, it was automatically made into a Featured Deviation module. For nonsubscribers, the important thing to know here is that if you have this module, you will be unable to find and add another Featured module from the edit page as you are permitted only one: you'll have to decide whether to continue using it for your desktop screenshot, or to show off one of your other favourite pieces.
