Hi and thank you so much for your time to do this interview. To start off with, tell us a bit more about yourself. Hi. My name is Irina. I'm 22 years old. I’m a student/web-designer/programmer/ hobbyist/artist. My tools of the trade are Photoshop, tablet, imagination and chocolate.
How did you start with digital art? I’ve been drawing since my childhood, but in my youth I stopped drawing, coz I’ve decided to become a programmer. About 3 years ago I started to draw again, but I used Photoshop and the mouse instead of the pencil and the paper. Unfortunately, it was difficult to call the ART that time. There are many problems, there were moments when I just wanted to leave everything and never open Photoshop again. But something made me do it again.
What brings you to deviantART? And what you like the most about this place? First I joint deviantART to follow my fovourite artist’s work. And Natalie Shau, first of all (her artwork impressed me greatly). Unfortunately she left deviantART. What I like the most about this place? Everything except one thing. Usernames can not be changed at all
I noticed that you love doll-like characters, can you tell us something about them? Yes, I’m mad about dolls! Especially ABJ-dolls make me crazy. I was always impressed by characters which hide something scaring behind the virgin-angel appearance.
I really love your dark, fantasy, conceptual artwork, and the way you create pieces with mixed emotions. What inspires you? I could be impressed by anything: heard song, read book, the smell of perfume and even advertisement - everything that makes my mad fantasy work. Tim Burton is one of my greatest inspirations and influences!
How long did it take you to find your own style? As I’ve already said I’ve been doing digital art for several years already, but for a long time I hadn’t got the personal style. About a year ago I saw some success and I’ve decided to join DA.
Would you be able to pick one of your works as most special and meaningful to you? "The Last Waltz". I adore this work, although it’s not so popular. Some find it dark a bit, some ask me what's about. I just wanted to create something charming and romantic. Maybe I have me personal point of view of romanticism...
I am seriously in love with "Lunatic",can you tell us something more about this particular work of yours? Most of all I draw at night, when nothing interferes into. Sometimes I drop into so much that I look like a lunatic, lol. At first I wanted to call this work “Sleepwalker”, but the word “Lunatic” is more suitable here.
What are your projects for the future? I don’t want to plan anything now because I will have my final exams in two weeks, and if I survive, I hope, my next work would be “Alice in Wonderland” inside my collection “Once upon a fairytale”. I want to include my last work “Snow White” into it too. Also I want to continue trying myself in photomanipulation. I’ve always admired the works by `LuneBleu, =aphostol, =Lady-Dementia and others. People, how you do it?! I have so much to learn…
Good luck to you Irina, and thank you once again for doing this. Thank you so much, Ana. It was a real pleasure to answer your questions
If you would like to suggest someone for the interview please, feel free to note me
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
