A while back, there was a HUGE Karaoke contest that was held on deviantART, and now that I think about it now, it has inspired me to start a contest that is somewhat similar. However, this contest is not a singing contest. This time it will be a dancing contest. I held a poll on my account, asking if people would be interested in joining in on this contest, and a good majority thought it was a good idea. So I hope many other people through-out deviantART who enjoy dancing will participate.
The final prizes have not been completely determined yet. Prize donations will be very helpful and appreciation. We will accept any type of prize donation whether it be monetary or some art. The prize list will be updated in my journal, so make sure to watch the journal for any updates in prizes.

Rules

1.) Anyone is eligible to participate. This is not an art contest. It is an actual dance contest, so the only things that you have to be able to do are dance and have fun.
2.) Only one entry per person so make it your best.
3.) We want to see ALLLLLLLLL kinds of different dances. We want to see anything from ballet and tap dancing, to a dance that you choreographed all by yourself. The only thing we do not allow is any sexual looking dances. NO LAP DANCING!!!
4.) This contest will be judged by (We need more judges so read number 6 of the rules if you are interested.)
5.) The deadline will be June 25th, 2009 so you have 4 months for this contest. That should be plenty of time.
6.) If you are interested in being a judge then send a note to titled “Judge” and I will add you to the list of judges in my journal.
7.) Make sure to check my journal for updates with prizes and judges. Unfortunately, news articles can’t be edited once they are written, so PLEASE CHECK MY JOURNAL FOR UPDATES!
8.) If you are interested in donating a prize, then send a note to titled “Donation” and tell me what you are donating. Then I will add it to the prize list.
9.) Once the contest is over, there will be a three week voting period. There will be no public vote because they are not fair because it ALWAYS turns into a popularity contest. So none of that. I am not dealing with DArama.
10.) You have a total of 2 months for practicing and 2 months for getting the final video finished and ready for the contest.
11.) Feel free to ask ANY questions by noting me or leaving a comment and I will answer you as best I can.

How to enter

1.) If you truly intend on entering, please note titled “I want to enter” and give me a general idea of what dance you might do.
2.) I will add you to the journal under “Entrants” once you are confirmed.

3.) You need to be able to videotape the dance you are entering so you can either use a webcam, digital camera that records, or a video camera.

4.) Once your video is done, upload it anywhere that will accept it. If it is ok, you can even upload it on deviantART.

5.) Once your video is uploaded, send a note titled “Entry” and I will add the entry link in the journal next to your icon.
