Well, I thought about doing the 100 theme challenge, but that was just boring. So. Instead, I'm going to do 100 SONG theme challenge.

And I want you to do it too! Not just for fun, or because I asked you to. But because of the learning experience behind it and the practice it'll put you to! I'm not even asking you to put your work up on DA. Just please comment if you'll do it.

What you do is get a peice of paper out or go to your DA journal (depending on whether you intend to put your work up) and number it to 100. Turn on your MP3 player, Media Player, whatever and put it on shuffle. And start to forward through your songs, writing them down as you go, until you reach 100. These are your themes. You start off with one, and play that song on repeat until you know what you're going to draw. When you do you can either turn off your MP3 or listen to that song until you're done with the artwork. It doesn't matter whether the art is poetry, stories, pictures, realism, cartoon, anime, or manga. Just use your own style and imagination for each piece.

If you put your art on DA, label it (song theme challenge number) +(name of song) (example: One+Breathe No More). In the artist comments, go ahead and describe what you where thinking or feeling, or how you made it, along with the link of whom you first saw this journal from. In the link column, where you have to put down the links your art will be related to, put '100themesongchallenge' and whatever else you'd like to link it to.

If you don't, that's okay too. But the learning experience behind this is awesome. You discover more about you and other people that you never knew before, and make new friends while doing this. I've done it in art classes (not in school, but an extra curricular activity) with just 10 art peices, and the class had to share their 10 arts. It was so amazing! And the improvement could be seen in their art all the way to the end! I gained new friends from it, and got to know old friends better. And myself too.

If you participate in this, I'd also ask you to make a journal out of this. Explain why you're doing it, the rules, etc. You don't have to, but then maybe more people will be able to participate and learn something!

I will admit, it will take a looong time to complete this. But it's something to do, something to learn. It's worth it in the end. So give it a shot! See what you can do!
