1) First off =angelitonegro, can you tell us a little bit about yourself!

I'm a simple deviant who discovered the site years ago, and created an account.. then left it for something like a year and came back, posting photography.. I was interested in that, but isnce I had almost no time to go out and take pictures, I had to find something else.. so I started posting some of my poems.. but after some time a friend told me to get Photoshop; so I did it, and started learning by myself.. and I fell in love with photomanipulations. I like to help in the community, in many projects.. only problem is that I never get messages asking for help xD haha

2) When did you first discover dAmn, and can you remember the first room you ever chatted in?

I discovered dAmn right after I created my account.. and chatted there too, I wasn't attracted by it.. but a year later I decided to give it another try and kinda became addicted to it *_*

3) What prompted you to create #HChat? Did you feel dAmn was missing a room on a specific topic? Did you think other rooms weren't catering to a user's needs? Tell us all!

What prompted me? Well.. as we know deviantART is a huge community, with deviants from all over the world.. and I think we all should feel "at home" here, so when I saw that no one thought about it, I decided to create a chatroom dedicated to the Hispanic people on deviantART, to meet each other, share their works and stuff I though it was an awesome idea, because no one did that before! So it would have been something new and fun

4) When you had created #HChat, did you promote it, and if so how?

After creating #HChat the need of promoting it was clearly visible, so I started sending notes to Hispanic clubs, or introducing #HChat to the Hispanic deviants I knew. With help of some moderators, we started spreading the world about it.. we created an account for it, and slowly it became famous!

5) Have you ever held any contests or events in #HChat in order to generate more exposure and more traffic? If no, why not? If yes, what sort of events / contests?

Yes, we did! In order to promote it, we invited "known" Hispanic deviants to our chat and interviewed them, we created the spanish version of dAmnIt, we held a contest called "create an ID for HISPAchat" inviting all deviants to join it, and now we also do some Art Jams and organize criticism nights. Oh.. did I mention the features?

6) Do you have any advice for new room owners? Should they collaborate with existing rooms? Should they pester their friends to help promote?

Advice? Well.. I just want to say that they will need to work so much on it.. all that effort is worth it Ask your friends to promote it, it helps so much at the start, all things wil get easier once you gain popularity. Be patient!!
