In 1929, the way people viewed the world and their lives changed... What will happen if this occurs again?

The Challenge

To write/draw/illustrate a new deviation describing what the world might be like if another Great Depression occurs.

This challenge requires you to know a little bit of history, and to have the ability to imagine and envision the future - for better or worse.

Put simply the prompt is:

Imagine that the current world economic situation has taken a turn for the worse creating the Second Great Depression. How or what would that world be like?

The Specifics

1. One entry per medium - that means you can enter one literature, one digital media piece, one traditional media piece for three total entries per deviant.


2. Must be a new deviation; created after March 1, 2009.


3. Must cite all resources/stocks as needed.


4. Must post a link in your entry deviation to this journal.

The Fine Print

The contest period will start on 2100 PST March 18th, 2009 and end 2100 PST May 18th, 2009.

Maximum of three entries per deviant - one in each of the following medium - writing (prose, poetry), traditional media (oil, acrylic, pencils, paint, sculpture), & digital media (anything done more than 50% on a computer).

I reserve the right to:

1. extend the contest if necessary.


2. cancel the contest if I recieve less than five entries.


3. change the rewards and prizes up until 2100 PST March 31st, 2009.
