Relax, I read the FAQ. This is a serious problem that must be addressed.

Dear reader, you may or may not know that out there is a phishing site that impersonates the DeviantART home page. Once you attempt to log in to the imposter page, you will unknowingly also transfer a virus as well as give the person your login information!

Shortly after that, same person will log into the real deviant art and post on someone on your watch list's page and give them a message to bait them into doing the same thing and so on and so forth. The most common one that I know I recieved in February was, "I found out who my valentine was! Click Here! [link]" or something to that effect. Sadly, for the failure that I am, I clicked on it. Luckily, phishing protection saved me.

Numerous journal entries of other deviants have this problem as an issue, but it should not just be directed to your and my watchers, it should be directed to EVERYONE on deviantART.

Here are a few warning signs and tips that I know of to keep away from that page:
1.) Your status bar is there for a reason. When your cursor hovers over a link, the link's location will display in the status bar.

2.)The address name of deviantART and related areas is [insert section of site].deviantart.com, not [insert].da.com. If your address bar/status bar says otherwise, stay away.

3.) When you click on an outgoing link on deviantART, you will get a message saying you are leaving the site. If you're "leaving" dA only to be "directed back to the homepage to log in", that is a problem. Navigate back to the DeviantART page you were once at.

4.) Navigating to the page will not give you the virus, attempting to log in will, so don't panic if you accidentally get there.
