Welcome to this weeks volume of so we heard you liek emotes. This is the 25th volume in a weekly series aimed towards promoting emote and emoticonists from the dA community. It features emotes posted within the past week from both well known and new emoticonists, as well as featuring some other great emote projects and contests.
Featured Emoticons:
1.

Its the smoothness of the animation in :streetball2: by =
Marc-pHX which really attracts me to this emoticon. The movements are really well executed and the shading of the emotes is also brilliant. The ending is also rather amusing, so its definitely worth watching all the way through.
2.

I am always eager to see the next emoticon that =
MenInASuitcase will submit and Jack Emote Avatar didnt disappoint me. The jumping action moves fluidly throughout and the twirl is a brilliant addition. The background is nicely pixelled making this an all round excellent emoticon.
3.

If every food but one was to be destroyed, it seems like the deviants would vote to save cookies. As far as cookie art goes, Cookies by ~
Furatix is one of my favourites. The small animation in the helicopter really adds to this emoticon and when combined with the great idea and smooth animation it creates an excellent emoticon to watch
4.

I couldnt help but to giggle when I saw Watch your step by ~
Faeliscity. The running has been created in a different but rather amusing style, and the added element of the drop enhances the emoticon. The animation loops well and the shading isnt bad for a new emoticonist. I cant wait to see what the deviant might create next.
5.

I love the movement shown in digging by ~
Rekizd. The animation is extremely smooth and the way the emote pops up out of the hole is rather cute. The expression is rather amusing and the emoticon loops very well, giving this emote the 5th featured spot this week.

Projects
The projects seem to be coming thick and fast at the minute with 2 more launched this week
Descent Project
The first project launched this week is the descent project hosted by ~
ExFaceCake. The idea of this project is to design an emoticon to make its descent down the hole. For more info and rules, check out
this pageMuseum ProjectThe second project launched this week is the
museum project hosted by =
BurgerBunny. To enter this project you must use the base provided and design a piece for the museum. Its worth checking out the info as it looks set to be a great project

Spring Clean
There is a current event on to encourage people to help
spring clean dA. This involves both cleaning your personal galleries and dA categories. Please take the time this week to check all of your emotes are in the correct place, and take a browse through the emoticon gallery and report any miscats.
I am going to do a push to try and help keep the gallery as clean as possible. I also want to know where there might be a backlog of reported miscats to try and move as many as possible. If you know of any, drop me a note

Even with this, your reports are still important. If a gallery moderator doesnt know where a miscat actually belongs, a report can ensure that it does get moved at some point in time.

Noticeboard
Next week is volume 26 of So I herd u liek emotes?? For anyone that can do the maths, that means the news article will have been running for 6 months

Id like to know if you would like to see something special, and if so what?

Our last volume of the news article received over 150 faves. Its great to see it getting more exposure. Remember you can help promote it future by using one of our stamps in your journal or page modules.

This week a new contest for emoticonists was launched. It is being hosted by =
P0rkch0p on the theme of idiomic expressions such as kill two birds with one stone or jump on the bandwagon. More information can be found
here. Any donations for prizes would also be greatly appreciated

Im still struggling with emote DD suggestions. I received a few suggestions but many were for deviants that have had a DD within the past 3 months. So keep them coming in.
I have not forgotten about the mentors program. It will be up and running in the near future.
A couple of days later than expect, the next volume in my interview series was posted. If you missed it, you can catch the interview with =
