Who is "pinkcoma"? Could you tell us something about you?
"My name is Emma and I’m a 17 year old girl from The Netherlands. I love going to concerts, hanging out with my friends and doing all sorts of creative things with them. I also love watching movies, a lot!"

Why and when did you start appreciating art?
"As a child my parents always took me to museums in France, Spain or wherever we were on vacation. I just loved the ethereality of the Romantic paintings when I was younger and when I got older I got more into abstract and modern art."

Do you look up to any artist in particular?
"Well there are a lot of pieces that inspire me and open my eyes. I’ve also been really into photography since I was little and there’s a Dutch photographer named Erwin Olaf that has just such amazing pieces, if you’ve never heard of him I’d definitely suggest checking him out. Also Alex Pardee’s work is really a reminder for me to think outside the box and create new concepts. I could go on for hours about all sorts of different artists that have influenced me, but I’ll keep it at just those two."

How would you describe your art?
"My art is something that can be interpreted differently by whoever views it. Some may see the deeper meaning and others may just think that it’s a pretty picture. It doesn’t matter to me how you enjoy my work, as long as you do."

What do you think differs your art from others?
"Diversity I suppose. This is a difficult question because I don’t have a real trademark. My vexels and style have constantly been changing. It totally depends on my mood. Sometimes I’ll go for something really realistic and sometimes I go for powerful simplism."

What are you currently working on? What can we expect from you in future?
"I just finished retouching and editing three gorgeous photos, in one of which I’m the model, for a friend who’s entering a contest with them. I also started a new vexel a while ago. But since my last vexel I found it hard to find my inspiration again."

What are your 3 favourite deviations from your own gallery and why?
"This is probably the most difficult question you could ask me. Every piece has something significant to it for me."


"This was the first vexel that I thought was actually good. It got me even more into vexeling after receiving all the positive feedback and comments on it. Hence why she’s also in my icon."


"I couldn’t leave this one out. One of my more simplistic vexels and my first Daily Deviation! I received my second DD not so long ago, but this one will always be special to me."


"My latest vexel, in which I feel that I really improved. A big difference from my older work because I started using line-art by now and freehand shading. There were a few times that I just considered giving up on this one because I got stuck on the broche or on the hair or the clothes. But I pushed through and I think it definitely paid off!"
