People started raising sheep over ten thousand years ago and there are now about one billion sheep on the planet, and 900 different breeds.

Sheep have terrible eyesight but an excellent sense of hearing.

If you see a sheep on its back, help it to stand up again as sheep cannot get up from that position and will eventually die if left too long like that!

When Woodrow Wilson was President, the First Lady had sheep graze on the lawn of the White House to keep it neat and well trimmed.

A one-year old sheep is called a "hogget" and a two-year old sheep is called a "two-tooth".

Sheep grow two teeth a year until they have eight in total!
