Applying dA Art to Famous Literature #1

~AinuLaire:iconAinuLaire: reports, April 8
Literature is one of the oldest and most inspiring of human creations. There are plenty of famous texts that many of us can quote partially, if not fully; most of the English-speaking world knows that Shakespeare coined the term "to be or not to be", or that Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream.

In this series of news segments that applies the work of DeviantArt artists of all sorts to lines in famous poems, speeches, and general well-known literature. The piece may or may not have been inspired by the text itself; what matters here is that it can either be creatively or literally applied to the line in question.

Without further ado, here is the work of dA writers, traditional artists, digital artists, photographers, and photo-manipulators applied to famous literature.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost (1874 - 1963)

Whose woods these are I think I know.

His house is in the village though;

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To ask if there is some mistake.

The only other sound's the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

I am accepting submissions for the next news feature, which will use Emily Dickinson's "Because I could not stop for Death". Please post your deviations at this forum thread: [link] where is also posted the full poem and the submission rules.

Art makes the world go round,
*AinuLaire

My only problem with poetry is that it involves reading.
I hate reading.
But, I'm not a tv person either.
So, I'm definitely not a zombie.
Zombies = bad.
